Height: Unrevealed (a few images made him seem giant, but perhaps just because Caneloni is really short; perhaps 6-7' tall)History:
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it Fresh
(fb) - BTS) - Ethereal, malignant and all powerful, the Cosmos Father is
the head of the Sicilicons, a race of brutal gangsters who were
considered to be the biggest crime syndicate in the galaxy.
It was widely rumored that if you crossed him even once, you would be sleeping with the head of your favorite pet.
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it Fresh (fb) - BTS) - Soon after Earth opened up it's borders for intergalactic trade, the Sicilicons arrived. They soon wiped out the existing mafioso families and imposed their own code of "owmurder" on the criminal underworld: Essentially, "you owe, we murder!"
(Sleeze Brothers#3) - The Cosmos Father gave an endorsement to President Sinartra, reviewing his history, instructing people to speak about him respectfully, noting that Sinartra was personal friend of his and that he looked out for his friends.
(Sleeze Brothers#3) - The Cosmos
Father attended a party at the Whitewash, fortress of President
Sinartra. He advised one of his men to just smile and show some respect,
as the president had been very helpful, after which the man advised him
to split as Hairdryer, head of the Galactic Investigation Bureau showed
up.
Forty minutes later, the Cosmos Father
was back at the headquarters when his right-hand-man, Caneloni, showed
him a Drive-in Bug, creatures native to Voyeur Major that served as the
latest hi-tech spying device. The Cosmos Father wondered what it had to
do with him, and Caneloni explained that the one he had obtained had
been monitoring the revolutionary Human Liberation Front.
The bug then showed how the HLF was preparing to blackmail Hairdryer with footage of his affair with Marilyn Blondclone. Cosmos Father instructed Caneloni to get him whatever the HLF had on the president, as that information could help their business careers; he further advised Caneloni that failure to recover the HLF bug would result in the termination of his life with the family.
(Sleeze Brothers#3 - BTS) - Caneloni had his men pick up Stoolie, who presumably informed him that he had seen someone (the Bugger, who had placed the bug) taking a dive off of Central Core's Platform One. Further questioning did not get Caneloni's men any further.
Ultimately, the Bugger fatally crashed
into the office of the Sleeze Brothers, and El'ape accidentally drank
the bug (after it passed into his water cooler), spat it out and stomped
on it.
With the bug's passing, the information being used to blackmail Sinartra was destroyed.
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it Fresh
(fb) - BTS) - Seeking to take over the air traffic business (uncontaminated air was akin to a narcotic in the Big Apple's
polluted environment and provided a level of euphoria), the Cosmos
Father began opening multiple hair salons and coiffure parlors, planing
to smuggle air via the wigs of the PRATS
(Planetary Reform Air Temperance Society, who sought prohibition on
air).
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it Fresh (fb) - BTS) - Apparently aware that the off-world air baron Mr. Big was going to markedly raise the price on air, Cosmos Father instructed Caneloni to give Mr. Big's agent Spinhaler a gift, which was a jack-in-the-box type weapon.
The Cosmos Father gathered all of the employees of the
family enterprise to sort out differences with the dealing of air.
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it Fresh
- BTS) - After Spinhaler informed Caneloni that Mr. Big was raising the
price on air such that not even his people were going to be able to
afford it, Caneloni gave Spinhaler the gift, which slew Spinhaler and
his men. However, the Sleeze Brothers and their target, Index Finger,
then fell through the roof. Caneloni's men slew Finger to prevent him
from revealing their actions, but the Sleeze Brother fled amidst a hail
of gunfire.
Hiding out in the women's bathroom, the Sleeze Brothers stole a pair of women's wigs and clothing to disguise themselves and then boarded the shuttle to the stratocruiser "Overlook." Unbeknownst to the Sleeze Brothers, the two women they were impersonating were Honey Flagel and Mrs. Lash, prominent members of the PRATS.
Recognizing the Sleeze Brothers despite
their disguises, Sgt. Pigheadski subsequently conscripted El'ape to pose
as Mr. Big (whom he had had detained at customs) in a meeting with the
air cartel, the success of which was contingent on the fact that no one
on Earth had ever seen Mr. Big. The plan was for El'ape to meet whoever
was running the air racket and set up a meeting for that evening.
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it
Fresh) - At the Friends of the Sicilicon Opera, the Cosmos Father
greeted "Mr. Big," sympathizing with his recent trouble at space
customs. He further related that their relationship had been
unnecessarily tense, but since Big controlled supply and he (Cosmos
Father) ordered the demand, it should be simple. Continuing that no one
wanted the blood of a price war on their hands, the Cosmos Father gave
"Mr. Big" that last air vessel from the last shipment Big had sent him,
asked him to think on the matter and to meet him at midnight to give him
his reply. Following the instructions of Pigheadski, who was monitoring
the converstation remotely, El'Ape agreed to the meeting.
As "Mr. Big" departed, however, the Cosmos Father considered that he should enjoy that air, as there would be a distinct lack of it where Mr. Big would be resting his bones that night. Summoning his ninjas, the Cosmos Father instucted them to kill Mr. Big or face their own deaths.
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it Fresh
- BTS) - After 24 hours, space customs was forced to release Mr. Big,
who traveled to the Overlook, seeking vengeance on whoever had had him
detained.
Ninjas attacked El'ape posing as Mr.
Big, and they fell out of the airlock, but Deadbeat let El'ape back in
in time to save him. '
(Sleeze Brothers: Some Like it
Fresh) - The Cosmos Father discussed with his fellow criminals (and
El'ape as Mr. Big) how free air would be plentiful via his plan to
smuggle air within the PRATS' wigs; the PRATS' presidentially immunity
would allow them to slip through customs, and they would retrieve the
smuggled air in their shops' regular servicing; to prove his point, he
announced that they would smuggle a two million cubi-liter container of
air back to Earth in the wigs of the PRATS attending this anti-air
conference.
As the Cosmos Father had "Mr. Big" (El'ape) prepare to cut a celebratory cake, the real Mr. Big arrived and exposed the farce. While Cosmos Father and his men prepared to execute El'ape, he instead used the code phrase "piece of cake" to summon Sgt. Pigheadski and his men. A massive conflict ensued, where Mr. Big targeted Caneloni for killing his men, and then shots fired penetrated the air container, which caused euphoria in most of the population of the Overlook. Unaffected, the Cosmos Father noted sentient lifeforms to be pathetic; "They couldn't organize a slaughter in an abattoir."
One of the ninjas then set off
explosions that apparently destroyed much of the Overlook. However, it
appeared as if most of those present survived somehow. Cath Ode for NIB
news reported that "local businessman" the Cosmos Father refused to
comment on anything.

His name was
presumably a cosmic play on the Godfather.
Earth-89547 (Sleeze Brothers/Deadbeat and El'ape; Sergeant Pigheadski) Near future Earth where humans share the planet with aliens, robots, etc. Society is highly and literally stratified, with the Big Apple split into the Uppercrust, who live in the city's top layers within a pollution-free dome, the Stripys of the Platform One middle section, and the unfortunate rest who live in the crime-ridden, heavily polluted ground level dubbed The Street. Doctor Who Magazine# 147 (1989)
I didn't disagree with this
statement on Wikipedia (in it's defense, it's about as amusing as reading
Mad, Cracked or Crazy Magazine as an adult):
The comic has been met with a negative reception. Reviewing the first
issue for Amazing
Heroes, Gary D. Robinson hoped there wouldn't be a second,
scorning the series' derivative characters, poor jokes and comparing it
negatively with garbage. The Sleeze Brothers#1 was Marvel's
second-lowest selling title of September 1991, ahead of only ALF#47,
and behind the 11th issue of both of the company's licensed Barbie
titles.
