Powers/Abilities: The Colonialist did not demonstrate direct superhuman abilities, but he commanded powerful forces like the Ferals and the Fourth Battalion, and he directed the actions of Mr. Interpreter (who mirrored his images) and somehow forced the female women under his control to serve his will.
Perhaps via mechanical assistance, he could teleport across a planet along with Mr. Interpreter, and he could summon and transport the Ferals and the Colonial Volunteer Auxiliary Reserve Expeditionary Fight Force at least sub-planetary distances. He had the means to transport intergalactic distances, etc.
He spoke in odd phrasing, often exposing his lack of understanding of relationships and disrespect for others, as well as betraying his own insincerity.
He had no respect for others beyond his own
interest, and anything he could not obtain via payment he would seek to
take by force, although he used subterfuge in an effort to hide his
true intent.
Along that same respect, the Colonialist appeared
somewhat like a ventriloquist's dummy, mimicking the appearance and
speaking as an interpreter for the larger version of himself, but the
larger version, Mr. Interpreter, was actually subject to his control.
He sometimes rode upon what appeared to be
juvenile elephant, while Mr. Intrepreter rode upon an apparently adult
elephant.
He sometimes sat upon a floating chair, while Mr. Interpreter sat upon a large throne.
He and his entourage appeared to give off a light pink
glow.
History:
(Black Panther VIII#9-10 (fb) - BTS) - The Colonialist appeared
to be part of some sort of empire or group that conquered other races
and/or manipulated other races into conquering others, often
eliminating their free will and strip-mining the resources of various
worlds. However, he was the only one of his leader-types seen.
(Black
Panther VIII#10 (fb) - BTS) - Arriving on the world of the people later
known as the Buffalo Soldiers and the Mugabee, the Colonialist
convinced the <Buffalo Soldiers> that the Mugabee were secretly
their enemies, just waiting for their chance to to kill them all.
The Colonial Volunteer Auxiliary Reserve
Expeditionary Fight Force (possibly the Fourth Battalion) subsequently
gave the <Buffalo Soldiers> weapons and taught them how to fight
and sent them to kill the Mugabee. In return, the Colonialist had the
<Buffalo Soldiers> mine and deliver "useless shiny rocks"
<glowing, so probably not diamond> from beneath the Mugabee's
land.
(Black Panther VIII#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Colonialist sent their
Ferals to graze in Skutustadahreppur, Iceland, considering it to be
useless.
(Black Panther VIII#1 - BTS) - The Avengers (including Black Panther, Captain America and Thor) and Dr. Strange banished the Ferals "apparently back to where they came from."
(Black Panther VIII#9) - The Colonialist, astride his juvenile elephant and alongside Mr. Translator and his adult elephant and multiple Objectifications, appeared outside of Avengers Mountain in the North Pole.
(Black Panther VIII#9) - The Colonialist and his entourage attracted the attention of the Avengers present (Black Panther, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Thor). With the Colonialist's interpreter posing as him, and with his posing as the interpreter, he introduced himself, Mr. Interpreter and his "lovingly misogynized" Objectifications (who asked for help in an unidentified language). After noting his honor in meeting this world's best fighters -- referring to them as "Negro Feline," Jingo Commando," "Commander Hottie" and "Aryan King" respectively -- he revealed and apologized for unwittingly causing the conflict with the Ferals in Iceland, having assumed the land to be useless and not needing to have asked permission. He then asked for several tens of thousands of acres of their choice on which the Ferals could feed. After the Black Panther told him that he, his beasts and his colonialism was unwelcome anywhere near Earth, the Colonialist apologized and departed, wishing them well.
(Black Panther VIII#9 - BTS) - As none of the
Avengers believed that the Colonialist had departed Earth, the set
about tracking him. Although he generated some kind of shielding that
cloaked him from electronic surveillance, Captain Marvel programmed
their satellites to isolate for the slight energy signature produced
when he had arrived. Additionally, the Panther noted that the Vibranium
wearables used by the Avengers who had encountered the Ferals to
replicate the waveform Strange had used against them (Strange at the
time was at least seemingly deceased). Captain Marvel located the
Colonialist in My Large Intestine, Texas, and while T'Challa worked
with his sister, Shuri, to design an amplifier for Strange's mystic
waveform.
