History:
(2099 Unlimited#6/2 (fb) - BTS) - A designer of
heavy-duty construction robots/mecha, Suzanne Carter was hired by
Stark-Fujikawa.
(2099 Unlimited#6/2) - Soon after, Suzanne was present at a meeting where Ethan Shields remotely presented his armored suit, for which he was credited as a twisted genius, more at home with machines than with other beings. Acknowledging her neophyte status, Suzanne stated that she had never seen anyone who liked being a hermit and asked if anyone had ever tried reaching out to Shields once in awhile. A more senior member replied that reaching out to him might be difficult but suggested she visithis lab and see for herself.
Not seeing Shields, she approached the
Galahad armor, considering it like a knight for the 2090s and Shields to
have a soft spot for the romantic days of yore. When she reached out to
touch it, she was surprised to hear a voice say "Please
don't touch that," and she turned to see Ethan Shields in a
containment chamber. He explained that he had no immune system and would
die if he left the germ free environment. Smitten with Shields, Suzanne
introduced herself, telling him she had never seen anything like his
work. She soon had to leave for a meeting but told him they could talk
later.
That night, Suzanne returned to find
someone -- whom she presumed to be a saboteur from a rival corporation
-- using her construction robot/mecha to assault Shields laboratory.
Seeing Carter, the man operating her robot began firing on her. Drawn by
the sounds of destruction and seeing Suzanne in danger, Ethan activated
his Galahad armor, withstood its microwave blasts and prepared to
extract the operator from the mecha. However, under orders to not be
taken alive, the man electrocuted himself.
However, the electrical charge
activated the robot's heavy-destruct program, and it continued on its
rampage, with Suzanne in its path. When the robot hurled Galahad away
like a toy, Suzanne rushed to see to him, but when the robot moved to
smash her, Galahad flew her to safety. Noting his chivalrous code,
Galahad bowed and assured her he would do battle for her even if he was
not still functional.
After Galahad wrapped a girder around
the robot's feet to limit its mobility, it stumbled backwards and fell
through a window. Blaming himself for this, feeling that the robot was
necessary to construct safer buildings (and presumably not wanting to
destroy Suzanne's robot), Galahad flew down underneath the robot and
tried to slow its descent. The Galahad robot was crushed, and Suzanne
rushed down to the ground where she realized that the armor was empty.
She was confused, while Ethan
considered that she would appreciate that he operated Galahad remotely
and that he would rebuild Galahad.

Genesis#1 (fb) - BTS) - As a favor for a friend,
Suzanne and Mirielle stole two Storm-Richards personal stealth units. It
took Suzanne four hours and two smart chips from Mirielle's old camera to
lash together a missile.Comments: Created by Michael Jan Friedman and Matt Ryan.
