History: (X-Men: The Wedding Special II#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - Captain Cormelian was a member of the Braddock family, whose fae lineage on Earth-24799 was that of giants.
(X of Swords: Destruction (fb) - BTS) - Captain Cormelian joined the reborn (Captain Britain) Corps composed of multiversal variants of Betsy Braddock.
(X of Swords: Destruction) - Captain Cormelian and the Corps arrived on Otherworld to defend the Starlight Citadel from Annihilation's daemon horde. They were joined by X-Men of Earth-616 and emerged victorious.
(Knights of X I#5) - After the victory in their war against Merlyn, Betsy Braddock of Earth-616 declared that the (Captain Britain) Corps would no longer serve Saturnyne, Roma, or Merlyn and led it away from the Starlight Citadel, with Captain Cormelian in the first rank.
(Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain#1) - Along with the rest of the Corps, Captain Cormelian defended Earth-5411 from Otherworld's Furies manipulated by Morgan Le Fay.
(Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain#2) - The Corps had the advantage in numbers, and after a brief fight Morgan Le Fay retreated, taking the Furies with her.
(Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain#5 - BTS) - Betsy Braddock of Earth-616 wrote a letter of gratitude addressed to all of her fellow Corps members, including Captain Cormelian.
(X-Men: The Wedding Special II#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - Captain Cormelian joined Elspeth Braddock, the Violet Swan, Britannica Rex, Betsy Braddock-616 and her lover Askani in protecting Earth-146 from an invasion by predatory alien forces. The invaders entered into a parley with that world's Avengers, creating a pause in the fighting.
(X-Men: The Wedding Special II#1/2) - Elspeth sensed the arrival of a new threat, the extradimensional bounty hunter group Technet. Betsy-616 challenged their leader Gatecrasher, and Askani directed the Corps members to take on one opponent each. China Doll, who could shrink humans to trinket size, used her power against Captain Cormelian but only managed to reduce the giant to the size of a human. Captain Cormelian then took down China Doll with a single punch, while her companions likewise prevailed against their chosen opponents.
(What If... Kitty Pryde Stole the Phoenix Force? novel) - Betsy Braddock of another reality experienced a vision of several of her variants as members of the Captain Britain Corps, including one who was at least twelve feet tall, evidently referring to Captain Cormelian.
Comments: Created by Jonathan Hickman, Tini Howard, and Pepe Larraz.The giantess Cormelian is a figure in the Celtic mythology of Cornwall. She and her husband, the giant Cormoran, were responsible for the construction of St Michael's Mount. Cormoran himself would be killed by Jack the Giant Killer.
Other Corps members of abnormal height can be spotted in several scenes. Captain Cormelian can be identified by the golden chain connecting her two X-branded cloak clasps, a design element shared by many of her human-sized fellows (including Betsy Braddock of Earth-616) but none of the unusually tall ones. Because her apparel is not unique, Captain Cormelian may have other appearances in which her height is obscured by perspective.
Captain Cormelian is depicted on the cover of Betsy Braddock: Captain Britain#5 but, just like the rest of the Corps, does not appear within the issue itself.
