THE X-MEN's JETCOPTER

Classification: Terrestrial technology

Creator: Unrevealed

User/Possessors: X-Men (Angel/Warren Worthington III, Beast/Hank McCoy, Cyclops/Scott Summers, Iceman/Bobby Drake, Marvel Girl/Jean Grey, Professor X/Charles Xavier)

First Appearance: Fantastic Four I#28 (July, 1964)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: The X-Men's Jetcopter was a large helicopter which could seat at least six people. As it was a "jet" vehicle it presumably could attain speeds at a velocity far greater than a conventional helicopter.

History:

(Fantastic Four I#28) - When the Puppet Master seized control of Professor X and had him issue orders to the X-Men to attack the Fantastic Four, the X-Men flew to the Fantastic Four's Baxter Building headquarters in their Jetcoper and landed on the skyscraper. Welcomed as guests, the X-Men tried to lure the Fantastic Four into a trap, with Marvel Girl attempting to trick the Thing into entering the Jetcopter. When this failed, the X-Men attacked the Fantastic Four. The Beast grabbed the Invisible Girl and leaped inside the Jetcopter with her as the team fled.

The X-Men landed their Jetcopter on a plateau outside Manhattan and waited for the rest of the Fantastic Four to follow them. The Fantastic Four's Pogo Plane was able to track the Jetcopter vibrational frequency, tracing them to the plateau. Eventually the Puppet Master and his ally the Mad Thinker were revealed to have been behind Professor X's behavior and the two teams bested them. The X-Men returned to their X-Mansion aboard the Jetcopter.

(X-Men I#7) - When the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants set an ambush for the X-Men, the team responded by flying in the Jetcopter to the location specified by the Brotherhood's leader, Magneto. Once the Jetctoper came within range of his powers, Magneto tore the Jetcopter apart; Iceman created an ice slide to save himself, Beast, Cyclops and Marvel Girl, while Angel saved himself under his own power. Angel grabbed a rotor blade from the debris of the Jetcopter to use as a weapon against the Blob, but the Blob easily smashed it.

(X-Men I#8) - The X-Men used a replacement Jetcopter as their means of transportation while tracing the newly-discovered mutant Unus the Untouchable.
