History:
(Howard the Duck I#7 (fb) - BTS) - Dreyfuss Gultch established himself as a country and western singer and he was invited to sing the National Anthem at the All-Party Party political convention.

(Howard the Duck I#7) - After picking up the hitchhiking Howard the Duck and Beverly Switzler in his stylized limousine, Dreyfuss found that Beverly didn't quite believe he was actually the famous Dreyfuss Gultch. Despite Dreyfuss wondering if his limo wasn't proof enough, Beverly questioned why Gultch was in New York, to which he replied that he'd been invited to perform the National Anthem at the All-Night Party convention. He then explained what the All-Night Party was and Beverly asked if there might be any jobs at the convention since they needed money. Admiring Beverly's chest, Gultch admitted that, while he didn't enjoy using his influence in such a way, he could probably make an exception for the pair. Once they had arrived at Gultch's hotel, Dreyfuss had Howard and Beverly stay close to him as they exited the limo and Gultch was swamped with autograph seekers. The chair of the All-Night Party soon forced his way through the crowd to greet Gultch, who asked for a room and jobs for both Howard and Beverly. After Howard was made a security guard and Beverly, a hospitality girl, Howard ran into Dreyfuss Gultch at the convention and Gultch invited Howard and Beverly to a night on the town with himself and the All-Night Party bigwigs, an invitation Howard accepted.

Later that night, Howard accompanied Dreyfuss Gultch and All-Night Party heads to a sleazy bar, where he was given the bill with a coded message on it matching similar messages he had received twice before in his hotel room. The next day while working his security guard job, Howard discovered a bomb at the convention and successfully lessened its blast by dumping it into a seven layer cake, prompting Dreyfuss Gultch to nominate Howard as the new candidate for the All-Night Party.

(Howard the Duck I#8) - When several hitmen went after presidential candidate Howard the Duck, Dreyfuss Gultch rode up in his limousine and suggested Howard and Beverly Switzler get in the limo, assuring them that the limo's bulletproof glass would protect them. Howard and Beverly did as ordered, getting in the limo with Gultch as the hitmen opened fire on the limo. Once they had gotten to safety, Gultch warned that Howard shouldn't be walking the streets now that he was a presidential candidate and when Howard asked if Gultch knew why he had left, Dreyfuss opined that perhaps it was because of the crazy campaign promises Howard had been making. Howard immediately insisted he had not made any promises as of yet but Gultch responded that Howard's ad agency had been making promises for him before suggesting they go upstairs to meet the ad men. Upon seeing all of the campaign ads for his candidacy, Howard became angry and demanded to know who was responsible for them, to which Gultch answered with the name G.Q. Studley. Gultch then watched as Howard stormed into Studley's office and demanded an audience, only for Studley's men to carry Howard out of the building. He then remained with Beverly Switzler as Studley explained his marketing strategy for Howard's candidacy.

Later, after Howard parted ways with G.Q. Studley and began working with Mad Genius Associates, an interest group met with Howard at Dreyfuss' Drey Gultch ranch to discuss became business associates with Howard. During the meeting, Gultch played around on his guitar while Howard told off the interest group, who left angry when Howard refused to associate with them. An angry Howard then commented that the mangy magnates that ruled the world killed him and Gultch replied that they just might. Later still, following a string of assassination attempts on Howard's life, Howard and Beverly returned to their New York hotel, where Dreyfuss Gultch informed them of a smear campaign running in the newspapers.

(Howard the Duck I#9) - Dreyfuss Gultch continued to aid Howard the Duck's presidential campaign as the campaign fell apart following the newspaper smear campaign showing photos of Howard and Beverly in a bathtub together. After speaking with a friend of his at the CIA, Gultch informed Howard and Beverly of his knowledge that the newspaper photo was fake but Howard berated Gultch, announcing that they already knew it was fake because they never bathed together. Beverly questioned how Gultch's friends knew the photo was fake and Gultch explained the tub in the photo had no faucet, proving that it was two photos pasted together. Gultch also revealed that the photo had been traced to a foreign power, Canada, but the CIA would not be pursuing the information since they were happy Howard had lost the presidency. Howard responded by asking Gultch to tell his friends he appreciated their candor and lunacy before leaving the campaign office and saying goodbye to Dreyfuss Gultch. Gultch asked Howard to hold on, reminding Howard that the fake photo scandal harmed the entire All-Night Party. Gultch then informed him that the CIA figured the faked photos were taken by the bellboy at Howard and Beverly's hotel, who had recently fled the country, leaving behind an Ontario forwarding address. Gultch then passed two airline tickets to Ontario on to Howard, suggesting he and Beverly investigate the bellboy personally as a PR move to clear Howard's name. Despite Howard's reluctance, Beverly convinced Howard to go along with Dreyfuss Gultch's suggestions and fly to Ontario, Canada.
