History:
(Journey into Mystery I#22/4 (fb) - BTS) - Wishing to colonize Earth, Martian gun-runners teleported blaster handguns to eleven power-mad Earthmen -- one of the eleven happened to be Ingram Frazer. The Martians' plan was to arm Earthlings so they'd wage war against each other and wipe out their own race, then the Martians could claim the depopulated third planet without risk to themselves.

(Journey into Mystery I#22/4) - One day, Frazer was showing his gun collection to an associate; among the familiar pistols in one of the locked cabinets was a strange handgun labeled MARTIAN BLASTER. Having no idea how it got there, Frazer removed the weapon, pointed it at a stuffed chair, and pulled the trigger -- a blast of radiant heat erupted from the pistol, and the chair was completely disintegrated!

Frazer took the blaster outside to further test its incredible power -- he completely disintegrated a boulder, then went to an old car on a back acre of his property and fired a beam that effortlessly cut through the abandoned vehicle.

Although he was unaware of where the blaster came from, Frazer believed that he had the ultimate weapon, and since weapons equaled power, he was determined to have the blaster duplicated so he could become the future ruler of Earth.

After hiring a brilliant physicist and swearing him to secrecy, Frazer had him analyze the strange weapon. Following a detailed examination, the physicist was certain he could replicate the blaster using Earth materials; Frazer told him to reproduce a thousand of the blasters, so the physicist went to work at Frazer's estate.

Meanwhile, Frazer thought to himself that by placing the weapons in the right hands, the world would soon be his, so he began to hire men for a price (a thousand dollars a week) who would loyally obey his orders as his own private army.

A month later, the physicist's first duplicate blasters were produced, and Frazer began to distribute them to his mercenaries. Although he still couldn't fathom how the original blaster got into his locked cabinet, Frazer didn't care, because with his thousand armed mercenaries all carrying blasters, he would be able to dictate his terms to the world.

Some time later, the exhausted physicist turned out the thousandth duplicated blaster, and with his work completed, he gave Frazer the blueprints for the blaster duplicates and requested payment for his efforts; but since the plans for duplicating the blaster were too valuable to risk having their creator fall into other power-hungry hands, Frazer pointed the original blaster at the physicist and disintegrated him.

With the supreme confidence of upcoming triumph, Frazer went to his desk and began to write an elaborate ultimatum to the United Nations, telling the world organization of the lethal weapons he possessed, and how they would be used unless his will was obeyed completely (see comments) -- he was unaware that he was being watched by unseen extraterrestrial eyes...

This 4-page story--The Blaster!--was left with an unresolved ending, so we never learned if Ingram Frazer ever tried to conquer Earth. It's always possible that Frazer died of natural causes before he ever enacted his scheme, or maybe the physicist's duplicates of the original Martian blaster were imperfect and soon lost power.

And in regards to the other ten Earthmen who were sent blasters: maybe they were never able to duplicate the Martian technology.

It remains to be explained how so many different races/beings allegedly originated from Mars.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Ingram Frazer should not be confused with:

These Martians have no known connection to:

Martian blaster

One of eleven handguns of Martian design, it fired an energy beam which could completely disintegrate matter.

Having been teleported to Earth, it appeared in a cabinet of Ingram Frazer's gun collection.

After testing the blaster's awesome power, Frazer hired a physicist to build a thousand duplicates of it.

unidentified physicist

He was hired by Ingram Frazer to inspect the Martian blaster and replicate a thousand copies of it.

Frazer was unaware of the origin of the blaster, and although the physicist found it to be made of materials never seen on Earth, he was able to use Earth-based substitutes to replicate it.

After producing one thousand duplicates of the Martian blaster, the physicist requested payment from Frazer; but fearing that the physicist might share the plans of the blaster with other power-hungry men, Frazer "rewarded" him by disintegrating him with his original Martian blaster.

Martians

Having green skin, with slightly large and pointed ears, these two Martians (Statl and his unidentified comrade) could teleport objects from Mars to Earth via "mental picturization"; they could also secretly observe events on Earth -- whether this was accomplished by technology, or a psionic ability such as remote viewing, is unrevealed.

The growing population of Mars was causing the red planet to become overcrowded, so Statl came up with a plan to teleport some of their blaster handguns to eleven power-hungry Earthmen (one of whom was Ingram Frazer). The Martians hoped that Earthilings would use the blasters to eventually wipe out their own race, then the Martian colonizers could claim Earth without risk to themselves.

After Ingram Frazer had his blaster replicated a thousand times, he began to write an ultimatum to the United Nations detailing his plans to become dictator of Earth -- Frazer was unaware that the Martians were secretly watching him.

(Comment: These last two panels on the last page were all we ever saw of these Martians, so next to nothing is known about them. Since only their heads were depicted, it was unrevealed if they even had humanoid bodies.)
