Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Escape Sub is a small submarine that docks within larger A.I.M. submarines. It has a periscope. It can be staffed by approximately one dozen people.
History:
(Tales of Suspense I#94/2) - When two squads of A.I.M. operatives aboard an A.I.M. submarine turned against their leader, M.O.D.O.K. while he was fighting Captain America and Sharon Carter, their Squad A took possession of the Escape Sub and prepared to escape the submarine while Squad B attempted to kill M.O.D.O.K. Squad A was told to remain at the Escape Sub for 10 minutes; if Squad B didn't return, they were to attempt an escape.
After 10 minutes, Squad B hadn't returned, so Squad A prepared to exit, noting M.O.D.O.K. had yet to notice their activities, suggesting to them he'd been killed. Just as the entry hatch to the Escape Sub was closing, Captain America jammed it with his shield then pried open the hatch. Captain America and Sharon Carter commandeered the Escape Sub, placing its crew under arrest and forcing them to pilot the Escape Sub to the nearest authorities.
