History: Screamer's past history is unrevealed

(Marvel Graphic Novel: Dr. Strange and Dr. Doom: Triumph and Torment) - was one of the sorcerers of Earth summoned to the Temple of the Three in the Javan Rainforest by the Aged Genghis to participate in the centennial contest to decide the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. Like most, she swiftly fell before the magic of the Vishanti and her body was then used by the Vishanti against the others. She regained her mind at the contest's conclusion, when Dr. Strange became the victor.

Despite her seeming inexperience, "Screamer" was one of the "last men standing" during the Time of the Vishanti.

The ALMOST story of "Screamer"

Roy and I were going to reuse her (as usual my idea of rescuing obscure characters)  in a 4-issue mini-series that got written partially drawn (1 full issue inked, 1/2 of 1 penciled, if I recall correctly) but not finished, her name is ELSIE MANNING (her mum was a fan of Coronation Street)
and her nom-de-guerre was SCREAMER. She was young, British, lower class (not in a bad sense) but we never got any further with her.

I did find the first and a half issues of that CAPTAIN AMERICA 4-parter ("REQUIEM") that Roy and I had begun to do when Tom de Falco got the sack and Bob Harras came in and canned tons of stuff.
Now I had plotted all 4 issues (which by the way I reused for what became the six-issue STRANGERS mini-series published by Image last year). That went to the artist.  #1 and most of #2 got penciled. Then that went to Roy. He wrote the script to #1, and that got mostly inked. Then that was it.      But when Roy got to the script of #1, he changed the character. Elsie Manning / Screamer / young eager mystic became Terri Duckworth / Shriek / young eager mutant from Cloud Nine.      As far as I can recall in my dim memories, we did discuss the "Mutant from Cloud Nine" bit. In event, her powers / actions throughout the story remained the same (a combination of Siryn with a bit of Scarlet Witch thrown in, screaming spells was still her schtick). But I have no recollection about the change in name and secret identity.      So you're left to decide how you want to refer to her or even if it's at all the same girl from the STRANGE/DOOM gn (even though i did intend it that way originally).      Your call my friend.

Actually, the Cloud Nine facility was home base to the Warpies, who weren't mutants, but people (many of them youths) mutated by the energies released by James Jaspers' reality warping--Snood.
