History:

(Marvel Comics Presents I#128/1): Necromancer posed as different heroes and villains and fought Ghost Rider in the name of Dusk. He turned into a copy of Ghost Rider after everyone else around him was defeated by the hero. He told Ghost Rider that everyone Ghost Rider touched was driven mad.

(Marvel Comics Presents I#129/1) - Ghost Rider followed Necromancer through the Realm of Madness for more than thousand days. The time passed different in the Realm of Madness, but finally the Ghost Rider was able to catch Necromancer with his chain and they fell into the River of Obsession. He then forced Ghost Rider to climb the Mountain of Brimstone Hysteria. Necromancer then attacked Ghost Rider again and showed him the Penance Sea of Souls. Ghost Rider got madder with each passing minute and he punched Necromancer on to and through some sharp stones. Necromancer wasn't injured and mentioned that Ghost Rider made the mistake to use the realm and now it used Ghost Rider. In the end Necromancer was defeated and Ghost Rider took the skull of the demon with him.

(Marvel Comics Presents I#130-BTS) - Necromancer restored his body and became once again a loyal warrior of Dusk.

(Venom: The Madness#2) - Necromancer asked Dusk what he could do against the new target Venom. Dusk ordered him to welcome Venom as soon as he lost his mind. Venom nearly snapped in a dream and Necromancer drove towards him shortly before Venom awakened.

(Venom: The Madness#3) - Shortly after Venom fell into the Realm of Madness he was hit by Necromancer with his motorbike. He greeted him and told him that he was called Necromancer because he got off on killings. He talked about the other demons that Venom would soon meet and that he copied his look from Ghost Rider who visited this realm sometimes. Necromancer then drove away again and waited until Paranoia was defeated. He returned and punched Venom in the face. Venom didn't take this too kindly and he beat up Necromancer badly.

Comments: Created by Ann Nocenti and Steve Lightle.

The poor demon wasn't seen in the Nightmare mini. Maybe he was afraid to get pummelled again or perhaps there were just too many flaming skulls around at the time.
