History: The past of the Skrull known as Morfex is unrevealed. Somehow, he came to adopt the appearance of an Axi-Tun, and became leader of the Cosmic Commandos. None of the members of his team were aware he was really a Skrull.

(Star Masters#1)- Morfex accompanied the Cosmic Commandos to the Hub to arrest the human super-hero Quasar, who had been framed for the murder of the Charter. Quasar at first went along with them, until he learnt of a broadcast they had seen of him confessing the crimes. Quasar Quantum-jumped away, but Morfex took a reading of his energy so that they could pursue him.

(Star Masters#2)- They caught up to Quasar at earth, where he, the Silver Surfer, and Beta Ray Bill were attempting to prevent Axi-Tun agents from destroying the earth with a planetoid. Morfex deployed the Commandos to combat Quasar and his allies, but as he monitored the situation from his ship, he came to perceive the threat against earth, and believed that he should call off the attack until earth had been secured. One of his men, Stenth, turned on him and knocked him unconscious. Stenth was surprised to see Morfex revert to his true form as a Skrull, but ejected him from the airlock. Morfex was rescued by his teammate Xenith, who was astonished by his true form, but Morfex declined to explain how he had come to adopt the form of an Axi-Tun. He and Xenith then agreed to join forces with Quasar, Beta Ray Bill and the Silver Surfer as the Star Masters.

(Star Masters#3)- After defeating the Cosmic Commandos, the Star Masters set off to the Hub, where they found an Axi-Tun vessel commanded by Aldebron, from which the Axi-Tun were committing genocide upon the races of the Charter by using the Cauldron of Conversion to manufacture a plague which could kill any member of a species set in the Cauldron. Morfex was blindsided after boarding the vessel and was thrown in the Cauldron with the other Star Masters, but they were all saved by Quasar.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#4)- By impersonating Sidereus, Morfex was able to get Quasar and Xenith to the Axi-Tun's cells, and set Tana Nile free. The Star Masters returned to Morfex's ship, and used it as a diversion to assault the Axi-Tun ship. Before the Star Masters could take any of the Axi-Tun captive, they destroyed their vessel. Subsequently, Morfex and the other Star Masters were honored by the Charter for having exposed Votan's conspiracy.

(Cosmic Powers Unlimited#5)- Morfex accompanied the Star Masters to Tun to apprehend Votan, but Votan used his power to control the wills of others to assault them, and Morfex succumbed to Votan's power. By marshalling their willpower, the Star Masters were able to escape Votan's prison, and joined forces with his brother Landar to combat him. Landar was surprised to see Morfex, a seeming Axi-Tun, working with off-worlders, until Morfex revealed his true nature as a Skrull to him. ULtimately, Votan's forces were defeated, and the Star Masters convinced Landar to allow them to take Votan into their custody.
