Classification: Alien life-form, humanoid, extra-temporal

Location/Base of Operations: Mobile in space aboard Seeker 3000

Known Members: Lhasa

Affiliations: The crew of Seeker 3000

Enemies: Hkkkt

First Appearance: Seeker 3000#2 (July, 1998)

Powers/Abilities: The Medusae possesses telepathy, but can only employ this power through touch. They can read thoughts and memories, and use this power to learn new languages. They can also transform their faces to display a "battle mode." In battle, they carry spears. Their ships are made of an unknown crystal substance.

History: (Seeker 3000#2 (fb))- The Medusae are a nomadic tribe of aliens who ventured into the Calver Fermion Theta Cluster, unaware that the Hkkkt's inert vessel Jakarah lay there. Sensing food, the Hkkkt awoke from their slumber and massacred the Medusae, killing most of them. Those who survived hid within an asteroid field aboard their only remaining vessel.

(Seeker 3000#2)- Lhasa of the Medusae found Cyrene, Vaun Lysander, and Carter Shaw, three humans from Seeker 3000. Lhasa learned English from contact with Cyrene, and explained his people's struggle with the Hkkkt. Carter asked for their aid, and Lhasa granted it, tired of hiding.

(Seeker 3000#3)- The Medusae joined Carter, Cyrene and Vaun in boarding Seeker 3000 and battling the Hkkkt who had invaded it. Lhasa slew one Hkkkt particularly viciously, taking revenge upon it for the misery of all his people.

(Seeker 3000#4)- The Medusae, Carter, Cyrene and Vaun met up with the other crewmen of Seeker 3000, and combined their forces. Ultimately, the Hkkkt were nearly all slain by Seeker 3000's Pathfinders, who unleashed a powerful psychic assault. Wishing to journey with others for a time, the Medusae joined the crew of Seeker 3000 as it set back out into space.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Medusae should not be confused with:

Lhasa was the nearest thing to a leader amongst the Medusae, and he established contact with the crew of Seeker 3000 from telepathic contact with Cyrene. Tired of running from the Hkkkt, he led his people in an assault upon the Hkkkt, aiding Seeker 3000. He then joined the crew of Seeeker 3000, to join them in their journey.
