Powers/Abilities: Dust has an unknown level of magical power and knowledge, enabling him to project mystic bolts (snakeform attack) and sense the presence of other magical beings. Other abilities are unrevealed.

History: Dust's past history, along with the source of his abilities and training, is unknown. He was based in the American desert and he had been "occasionally involved with a New York-based superheroine…Who shall go nameless."

(Hellstorm#13) - After a meditative walk in New York City's Central Park, Dust sensed he was being followed. He soon found himself confronted by "the Armorer," who sought to kill Dust and use his body parts as pieces for magical armor as part of a plot to grant the demon Zahgurim control over all of the souls in Manhattan. Dust unleashed a magical bolt at the Armorer which shattered against his armor. After this, Dust wonder, briefly, if his lover would have to see his corpse. He hoped not and died with a great sadness upon him--because he knew his corpse would be hideous.

(Hellstorm#14) - Dust's spirit was raised by Jaine Cutter and Hellstorm , who were seeking the Armorer themselves. Dust revealed that the Armorer's plot was not a sacrifice but a dowry--to Zahgurim.

Comments: Created by Warren Ellis and Leonardo Manco.

"New York-based superheroine"--okay, let's hear the guesses…

Dust had learned the info about the dowry from Zahgurim himself, indicating that he had been almost certainly sent to Zahgurim's realm of Hell after his murder. This didn't necessarily have to happen to each of the Armorer's victims though. Perhaps his mystical background insured a trip to Hell, or maybe his occult inclinations allowed him the ability to go to Hell to find out some answers. --Kyle

A gigantic heap of thanks to Kyle Smith who was kind enough to retype this profile for me after every single one of my copies was overwritten by the Obeahman profile somehow! Whew, nice save!!!!
