Known Relatives: None

Base of Operations: Humanity's Last Stand Complex, East Buffolk, Oklahoma.

First Appearance: Punisher III#12 (October, 1996)

Powers/Abilities: Deadeye wore a costume with protective armor which could also simulate energy blasts from an apparatus around his eye. He also made use of tiny robotic drones, which allowed him to locate his opponents. He also had a teleportation device in his costume.

History: (Punisher III#12 (fb))- Deadeye was sent by the MLF to capture Reverend William Conover, as part of their scheme to heighten anti-mutant tension. Deadeye found that Conover was protected by the Punisher, SHIELD agent Kymberly Taylor, and FBI agent Carl Denti (aka the X-Cutioner). Deadeye teleported away from the battle.

(Punisher III#12)- When Deadeye returned, the Punisher fought him solo, and slowly became suspicious as to whether he was really a mutant when he noticed the drones Deadeye used to find targets. He also noted that Deadeye held a grudge against him, apparently having been a mafioso before joining the MLF. Although Deadeye managed to outfight the Punisher, he was slain when the X-Cutioner arrived and blasted him through the chest with his Shi'ar battle lance.

(Punisher III#13)- Deadeye's body was taken to a hospital, but MLF member Blastfurnace appeared to destroy the corpse before an autopsy could be performed.

(Punisher III#14)- A new Deadeye was sent by the MLF to destroy a set of train tracks to derail the train the Punisher, Denti and Taylor were transporting Conover aboard. However, both the Punisher and Denti leapt to freedom.

(Punisher III#15)- When Denti claimed to have evidence that the MLF were not mutants, Deadeye was sent with the MLF to apprehend him. He battled the Punisher and Taylor, but captured Denti, returning him to the Humanity's Last Stand compound.

(Punisher III#16)- The Humanity's Last Stand compound was raided by the Punisher, X-Cutioner and Taylor. Deadeye fought the Punisher and X-Cutioner, but the Punisher blew him up with a rocket launcher.

Comments: Created by John Ostrander, Tom Lyle and Robert Jones.

Deadeye's costume and powers were meant to evoke similiarties between himself and Cyclops of the X-Men.

The Mutant Liberation Front has an entry in Marvel Legacy: The 1990s Handbook. Both Deadeyes received real names in the MLF profile in OHOTMU A-Z HC#8.
