(Quicksilver I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Mr. Steed was evolved into a humanoid form from that of a horse by the High Evolutionary, then he took his place among the New Men at Mt. Wundagore. When the Acolytes, under the leadership of Fabian Cortez, attacked Wundagore, Mr. Steed helped in the defense of their home. He rushed to summon the others, including their ally Quicksilver, to aid Sir Ram in the defense of the central citadel.

(Quicksilver I#1) - Quicksilver followed Mr. Steed back to the citadel, where they found Lord Churchill and Lady Vermin already burning some of the dead New Men, despite the battle not being over yet. The battle escalated, and Cortez fired on Bova and Luna Maximoff in an attempt to kill them, but Mr. Steed rushed in front of them and intercepted the blast. As Mr. Steed died, he asked to make sure his allies were still okay.
