(Tales to Astonish I#28/4) - When a fleet of Mongoors traveled near the Solar System, another race from the Star Patrol who wished to defend humanity created an enormous fog all around the planet Earth so that the Mongoors would take no notice of human life. Indeed, the Mongoors did examine the Earth but they could see no life upon its surface and so decided to move on and find other worlds for plunder. Once their fleet had departed, the Star Patrol lifted the fog from around Earth.

Their name is an obvious corruption of "Mongol."

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Mongoors should not be confused with:

Star Patrol

The Star Patrol is an extraterrestrial organization. Only two members of an unidentified race have been seen. The Star Patrol knew of the Mongoors and their lust for power and conquest. When the Mongoors neared Earth, a Star Patrol vessel emitted an immense fog around the planet so that the Mongoors would not detect human life. The ruse worked as the Mongoors moved on from Earth. The Star Patrol lifted their fog from the Earth, aware that the presence of the fog had frightened many of the planet's residents but they would never know the fog had saved their lives.
