First Appearance: Gun Runner#3 (December, 1993)kouros-planet-smith-gr3-cover

Characteristics: At least in the volcanic range on its equatorial belt, the surface was barren, with numerous rocky projections, mountains, caves, etc.

The mean surface temperature: 30 Celsius (86 Farenheit)

Much of the surface was -- at least at the time Gun Runner visited -- buffeted by strong cyclonic wind patterns.

There are apparently 15 hour of day and 15 hours of nights (or perhaps an entire "day"/planetary rotation is 15 hours, with part of that daytime and part of that nighttime).

History:
(Gun Runner#3 (fb) - BTS) - Smith relocated to the planet Kouros in the Spendeleen system, where he was the sole life form, living in the volcanic range in the equatorial belt and enduring the frequent cyclonic winds.

Smith set up a pre-programmed automatic defense warrior in the form of a pulsarmite/ferrous motile shape. He continued to sculpt numerous forms from metal.

(Gun Runner#3) - To combat the Cynodd, Gun Runner sought out Smith on Kouros.

Gun Runner's ally Oracle identified the location of the sole inhabitant on Kouros' surface. After Gun Runner's Warbird ship landed there, Gun Runner and his human associate, Gale Patric, exited the ship and sought out Smith.

After being attacked by and destroying Smith's defense drone, Gun Runner and Gale located Smith in his studio area.

Gun Runner told Smith of the Cynodd threat on Earth and asked for Smith's aid. After considering the situation momentarily, Smith, responded, "OK."

Boarding the Warbird, Smith accompanied Gun Runner and Gale to the water planet planet Nautilus to find Heavy Duty.

Comments: Created by Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Anthony Williams, and Colin Fawcett.

There is no discussion of whether Kouros is a planet that used to host life, or whether it was always uninhabitated.

Addtionally, there a few notes about being only one lifeform on the surface...perhaps there was subterranean life?
