History:

(ALF#22/1 (fb)) - On Melmac, after being attacked by the nefarious Magmeato, orbit guardsman Gordon Shumway (later known as ALF) crash-landed at Professor Charles Xylophone's School for Gifted Melmutants, where he was introduced to the Uncanned X-Melmen (Michigan Wolverine, Brogue, Häagen-Dazzler, Molossus and Psych-Major). The X-Melmen took Shumway with them in their X-jet to confront Magmeato on his haircraft carrier ship. Brogue was the first to confront Magmeato, who instead buried them all under a meat pile, but Shumway ate his way to secure their freedom. Magmeato surrendered and with the X-jet lost, Brogue carried the X-Melmen home.

(ALF Special#2/5 (fb)) - Professor Xylophone left with Brogue, Häagen-Dazzler and Molossus to watch the public fireworks celebrating Eat Something Blue Day. However, they were all captured alongside runaway Michigan Wolverine by a giant Sentimel robot designed by the government to hunt Melmutants. The formerly missing Dark Kleenex appeared just as Psych-Major and Shumway arrived on the scene and blasted the robot away. The X-Melmen recovered and Shumway departed, although the X-Melmen soon started infighting

(ALF 44 (fb)) - Brogue feuded with Michigan Wolverine again, this time because she wanted to watch the St. Melmatrick's Day Parade. Häagen-Dazzler left the X-Melmen and new member Nightcaller joined. Prof. X dispatched the X-Melmen on a space mission, but their home planet later exploded in a separate incident, leaving the X-Melmen as some of the very few surviving Melmacians. On a nearby moon, they found Magmeato and Emma DeFrost plotting to take over Earth. Meanwhile, Shumway had made his way to Earth.

(ALF 44) - Psych-Major and Dark Kleenex went to Earth and gained Shumway's help, changing him into his secret superhero identity of Fantastic Fur, before they rejoined the X-Melmen near Magmeato's Melmacian moon base. Magmeato caused their spaceship to crash, then DeFrost almost made the X-Melmen drown. However, DeFrost's actions destabilized the moon and just before it was about to explode, Shumway fled in an escape pod while Nightcaller dialed an emergency group transportation to an alternate dimension. Later, back on Earth, Shumway played with his Melmutant action figures, confident the real Melmutants had survived.

I ASSume that a Melmutant is simply a mutant on the planet Melmac.

Could she have stolen her powers from Ms. Gargle (later Captain Gargle, who had alien Brie heritage)? Surely there's room for cosmic stars now, like the Starjamjars led by Horsehair (and don't call me Shirley)? Was Brogue originally part of the Potpourri of Evil Melmutants, but now with her suave lover Hambit? It's all too easy to speculate further on the X-Melmen world! I already added too many punny ideas in the Häagen-Dazzler and Dark Kleenex profiles, but I can't stop cooking up additional tasty ideas! Who's next on the Specials Board?

And, of course, Brogue is a clear parody of Rogue of Earth-616 and her heavy southern American accent, although here it's Irish to synch with "brogue," the term for a strong southern Irish accent.

Further details on the Melmacian alien species (according to the ALF television show) can be found on a Melmac fansite. No problem!
