History:
(Wolverine: First Class#12 (fb) - BTS) - Quoggoth was created by the Lord of Chaos, greatest of the Old Ones: Shuma-Gorath.

(Wolverine: First Class#12 (fb) ) - Fancying himself more powerful than his master he rebelled and fought Shuma-Gorath on Earth in a time when dinosaurs still roamed the world. Shuma-Gorath, however, couldn't destroy Quoggoth and therefore imprisoned him in a tomb deep within an underwater castle in the Bermuda Triangle.

(Wolverine: First Class#12 - BTS) - Having stayed dormant for millions of years, Quoggoth was suddenly awakened when the mysterious Bermuda island was raised from the ocean floor. A feat accomplished by the master of magnetism, Magneto, who wished to use the castle as his base of operations. Not long after, Magneto was defeated by the mutant heroes the X-Men who then stayed on the island for a bit.

(Wolverine: First Class#12) - Realizing he could use the mutants to set himself free Quoggoth let out a cry causing the mutants to send Kitty Pryde and Cyclops to investigate. Quoggoth then created the shape of a small human girl on one of his tentacles with which he successfully captured the young Pryde, who was eager to help the young girl. Cyclops used his optic blasts to fight Quoggoth's tentacles but couldn't stop Quoggoth from pulling both mutants to his lair.

In his lair Quoggoth revealed his true identity and origin to Kitty Pryde, explaining that he would keep one of them with him while the other could remove the crystal seal which locked his tomb shut. Impressed by the intimidating creature Pryde almost agreed when Cyclops swooped in to save the girl. Determined to get the mutants Quoggoth spawned several winged monsters to catch them. However, when Pryde and Cyclops tried to escape through the tomb's door it was suddenly opened by Wolverine who'd removed the crystal. Panicked, the duo quickly urged Wolverine to put it back right before Quoggoth could escape his prison.

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#7 - BTS) - Quoggoth escapes his prison by means unrevealed.

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#7 (fb) - BTS) - Quoggoth appeared in Times Square, declaring he'd bring "gibbering madness to this fallen realm". The NYPD fought the eldritch god while Detective Corson tweeted about the situation hoping a superhero would come and help.

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#7) - Having just defeated the criminal Bonehead at the farmers market Squirrel Girl has read Detective Corson's tweet and decided to stop Quoggoth. The eldritch god, however, was less then impressed by the young hero and quickly grabbed her with his tentacles. However, Squirrel Girl then called on an army of squirrels who attacked Quoggoth's weak spot; his eyes. Easily defeated Quoggoth was incarcerated by the NYPD.

Comments: Created by Fred van Lente (writer), Scott Koblish (pencils, inks).

In New Mutants III#35 (February, 2009) a creature similar to Quoggoth appeared albeit much smaller. This, however was a piece of sentient extradimensional technology; it's the mind/sentience/black box of an extradimensional ship.

Quoggoth appears in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as an alternate costume for Shuma-Gorath.

Sadly, Marvel editorial's current policy is that the First Class series were not in Reality-616. Hopefully that changes at some point. They have my vote. Great stories, impressive effort to stay in-continuity...and succeed. Snood
