Comments: Created by Greg Vendetti.

Lightning Bolt was a product of the 1994 Spider-Man Magazine's "Create Your Own Super Hero or Super-Villain" section that ran in most earlier issues of the Magazine. In Lightning Bolt's case, he was created by then-10-year-old Greg Vendetti of Guilford, Connecticut. As a fringe character, Lightning Bolt was not confirmed to exist on Earth-616 but there was also no evidence to say he did not exist on Earth-616...

Lightning Bolt's height & weight were impossible to approximate, as he never seen next to any character whose height & weight had been officially determined. Additionally, Lightning Bolt's eye & hair color were impossible to determine, as he was only ever seen with his cowl on.

Lightning Bolt's origin was never shown but, for some reason, I imagine him being a mutated human.

It was not clear if the Fireball listed as an enemy of Lightning Bolt was the member of the Seekers linked in this profile (and who first appeared a year prior to Lightning Bolt's appearance) or if it was perhaps a misspelling of the name of Fire Ball, another Spider-Man Magazine superhero. I'm inclined to lean towards either it being the Seekers character or perhaps a new Fireball character created by Joey Cortez for Lightning Bolt's back story. If the Fireball listed in Spider-Man Magazine turns out to be an original character, I will add a subprofile of this new Fireball but until then, I'm going to stick with the previous character we've already seen.

The issue of Spider-Man Magazine featuring Lightning Bolt was not numbered but recent reprints of the comic strips from the issue in trade paperbacks of Adventures of Spider-Man & Adventures of the X-Men identify the issue as #12.
