History:
(Uncanny X-Men I#179 - BTS) - Shunned by society for being a mutant, the woman known only as Jo eventually found her place among the Morlocks, an underground society of misfits and mutants.

(Uncanny X-Men I#179 - BTS) - Jo was among the Morlocks when their leader Callisto decided to kidnap the X-Man Kitty Pryde so Pryde could keep her promise to stay with the Morlock Caliban.

(Uncanny X-Men I#179) - Callisto selected Jo and another female Morlock to be Kitty's bridesmaids. Jo was tasked to get the mind-controlled Kitty ready for the ceremony and helped her with her torn and tattered wedding dress. Jo and the other Morlocks watched as Callisto was about to wed Kitty and Caliban. However, Pryde shook off her mind control and remembered how she got there (kidnapped moments after she and Colossus fought the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants). Kitty rushed off to aid the injured Colossus, but was still weak and disoriented and unable to leave the Alley. Especially after she encountered the mutant power dampening Morlock Leech who returned her to the others. Resigned with her fate, Kitty allowed Jo to make her presentable again. Just before Kitty could be given a new, grotesque Morlock face by Masque, Storm, Rogue and Wolverine arrived to rescue their friend. Jo and the other Morlocks kept out of the fight, honor bound not to interfere with a leadership duel between Storm and Callisto. The fight was halted when Pryde stepped in, vowing to keep her promise after which Callisto decided to allow the Morlock Healer to save Colossus. Kitty kept her promise the next day and returned to Caliban, who released her from her vow when he realized she could never truly love him.

Comments: Created by Chris Claremont (writer), John Romita Jr. (pencils), Dan Green (inks).

Like most Morlocks, Jo's face would most likely have been changed by Masque to symbolize the life they rejected as outcasts.

Jo was most likely killed since her one-time appearance. Either by the Marauders during the Morlock Massacre. Or during the flood caused by Mikhail Rasputin or the consequent fight for the right to live on the extradimensional Hill. If not she would've been depowered during the Scarlet Witch's reality altering spell.
