howard_the_duck-sorcerer_supreme-80118HOWARD the DUCK:
"DUCK-THING"

Real Name: Presumably Howard, surname possibly Duckson

Identity/Class: Extradimensional / Alternate Reality (Earth-11880; see comments)

Occupation: Unrevealed;
possible guardian of the Nexus of All-Realities

Group Membership: Unrevealed, if any

Affiliations: None known

Enemies: Unrevealed;
possibly pained by fearful (or stupid) beings

Known Relatives: Presumably the same as the "mainstream" Howard the Duck

Aliases: None known

Base of Operations: Presumably mobile through the swamps around Citrusville, Florida, USA, Earth-11880
possibly formerly his native reality (see comments)

First Appearance: Howard the Duck II#8 (November, 1980)

Powers/Abilities: Composed of muck and vegetation in a semi-human-canard form, Howard presumabl did not need to eat or breathe to survive; so, while he probably still couldn't swim in this form, it probably didn't matter.

His muck-like form was likely highly resistant to most forms of injury.

Those who knew fear (or perhaps stupidity), may or may not have burned at his touch.

While the Man-Thing was incapable of thought and could only react to emotions, Howard the "Duck-Thing" could at least think about his mother...or something like that.

Height: Presumably around 2'7"
Weight: Unrevealed
Eyes: Solid black
Feathers: None; covered in (and composed of) green mossy material
Unusual Features: Howard is a semi-humanoid/swamp-material duck, possessing characteristics of ducks and plant material.

History:
(
Howard the Duck II#8 (fb) - BTS) - Presumably at some point after arriving on the world of hairless apes, Howard the Duck became a swamp-creature.

Comments: Created by Dave Sim.

The inside front cover of Howard the Duck magazine#8 had a featurette done by Cerebus-creator Dave Sims that had Howard musing to Bev (some pillow talk) about how life might be different if he had super-powers...he noted that life could be worse, however, if he was green, stupid, and moss-covered.
Regardless, in the infinite Multiverse, every reality exists, and a daydream can be considered a glimpse into the reality that mirrors it...

This Howard the Duck counterpart's appearances to date consist of a single panel...

In reviewing this page, based on discussion of other powers/forms he could possess, Howard presumably diverged after leaving his native world (like Kang the Conqueror), meaning Earth-11880 is a reality where Howard the Duck arrived in humanoid duck form before being transformed into a swamp creature...so his native reality isn't changed.
But, of course, Howard's home is complex anyway, as he was native to Earth-47920, but then the reality warp with Chireep overlapped his reality with Duckworld/"
Earth-791021." Don't get me started...

It is interesting (to me) to speculate on when Howard might have become the "Duck-Thing"

In Reality-616, Howard arrived in the Man-Thing's swamp and on multiple occasions, Howard has joined forces with the Man-Thing against other forces. Perhaps on one such adventure, the Man-Thing was destroyed, and Howard ended up as his successor.

Profile by Snood.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Howard the Duck
should be distinguished from:

"Thing-Duck"
of Earth-88011

Pretty much the same as the above in terms of history, except that he was mutated by cosmic rays into an orange and lumpy form, presumably along the lines of the Thing (Ben Grimm)

He presumably has super-strength and durability.

Note: I doubt he is the idol of dozens, let alone millions
