Powers/Abilities: Ember Quade is a loner who struggles with social interactions and she has always channeled her energy into online games, which she excels at.

After undergoing Terrigenesis, Ember developed the ability to absorb electricity and to channel her energy into creating real-life constructs from the video games she has seen, characters that tend to exist in a pixel form and who follow the rules of the video games they come from, including strengths and weaknesses. Emulator is also able to create original characters. During a time when her powers were enhanced, Emulator was able to create an entire pocket reality video game world, where people from real life were stuck until they figured out a way to escape the game. Among the many characters that Emulator has brought to life are Nutsy McSmasher, Danger Kong, the Scorpiozard, the "skeleton village", "cyborg rats", fire-breathing red chickens, an army of zombies, a dragon and others.

History: (Marvel Rising I#0 (fb) – BTS) – After her parents' divorce, Ember remained with her mother, Amber Marie Cavanagh. Despite being born in Reno, Nevada, Ember moved frequently with her mother, who started multiple new relationships and Ember changed addresses 27 times as a child. Relatively antisocial, Ember spent most of her time online playing games under the name "3MUL@TOR."

(Marvel Rising: Alpha#1 (fb) – BTS) – Ember's father remained mostly uninvolved in her life, sending her cash from time to time.

(Marvel Rising Alpha#1 (fb)) – Ember went to bed one evening as the Terrigen Cloud passed over the area and woke up with powers. She went downstairs to talk to her mom about them but found her mom's latest boyfriend, Tim, there instead.

(Marvel Rising Alpha#1 (fb) – BTS) – Ember began realizing she could store energy, such as electricity, and then make items from video games appear in real life, digitized.

(Marvel Rising I#0 (fb) – BTS) – Ember saw that Doreen Green, an E.S.U. student, volunteered to teach her class about computer science.

(Marvel Rising I#0) – Doreen took Ember and her fellow classmates, including Kamala Khan, on a field trip to the Howard Stark Institute for Technical Excellence. As they were being shown an old computer, A.I.M. agents attacked and both Doreen and Kamala rushed off, and soon Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel arrived to fight the villains. Doreen and Kamala soon returned, with Doreen claiming the whole thing had just been a lesson, but Ember was annoyed. Ember was unaware that A.I.M. had detected she had super powers.

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#32) – Ember attended one of Doreen's after school classes.

(Marvel Rising: Alpha#1 (fb) – BTS) – Ember formed an online friendship with the "KingofPWN."

(Marvel Rising: Alpha#1) – When Ember defeated her peers in video games as 3MUL@TOR, her peers teased her, berating her for being a female gamer. Ember continued checking in with KingofPWN, opening up about her powers manifesting and changing. Teaching about event loops to the class (including Naveah and Rafael), Doreen drew a chalk drawing of a squirrel with a hammer on the board, calling the creature Nutsy McSmasher. On a break from class, Ember grew emotional and accidentally created a digitized version of Nutsy McSmasher and it attacked the students. Squirrel Girl and Kamala Khan both showed up to fight the squirrel, who soon dissipated. After discovering she'd been banned from online gaming, Ember grew furious and, ignoring Kamala Khan's offer to team up on a project, she called customer service to get her accounts reinstated. That evening, Ember confided her fury to KingofPWN and realized that she'd been absorbing electricity and was capable of greater things. The next day, Ember summoned Danger Kong to digital life and sent it to attack the school but Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel defeated the creature. Influenced by KingofPWN, she created a digital costume for herself and styled herself as the villainous Emulator.

(Marvel Rising: Squirrel Girl/Ms. Marvel#1/1) – Ember returned to class, where Doreen taught about error handling. When Doreen checked on Ember about the bullies, Ember walked away annoyed as she continued to text KingofPWN. KingofPWN sent Ember a list of equipment she could steal to boost her powers so, summoning weapons from video games and using her powers, she broke into a facility but found Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel waiting inside. In the following battle, Emulator accidentally revealed her real identity then summoned bombs, a car and a giant robot to cover her own escape.

(Marvel Rising: Squirrel Girl/Ms. Marvel#1/2) – Back at class, Emulator summoned a giant red chicken (from Complete Fantasy XXXVI) to fight Ms. Marvel and the hero Inferno soon arrived to help her fight, and the chicken was soon defeated. Inferno and Ms. Marvel helped Emulator realize that she was an Inhuman but she just went rushing away, in contact with KingofPWN, as she summoned a dragon (from Skyscrolls) to attack campus. While Emulator was stealing a focusing lens from the science building, Ms. America arrived to help defeat the dragon as the science building was destroyed. Soon, Emulator summoned digitized zombies to attack.

(Marvel Rising: Ms. Marvel/Squirrel Girl#1/1) – Drawing more power from the local station, Ember created more zombies and her powers began to rewrite a video game pocket dimension over the area, resulting in Squirrel Girl going into "infected mode" once she was bit by a zombie (though she found a chest full of antidotes guarded by a rat creature) and Ms. America getting "banned from the server" (disappearing from the area) for trying to teleport zombies away. Just as she was thinking KingofPWN no longer cared about her, Emulator got a text instructing her to steal one more thing before her power upgrade. Emulator entered a scary building, where her ally told her to wait. When the heroes closed in on her, offering to help, Emulator refused to be their "nice girl project" and sent them all into a video game reality.

(Marvel Rising: Ms. Marvel/Squirrel Girl#1/2) – The heroes were stuck in Emulator's pocket dimension, which mimicked an MMORPG game, where they had to level up by fighting cyborg rats. KingofPWN guided Emulator into a room, where she was instructed to get inside a machine to power up, but Emulator had second thoughts until KingofPWN convinced her that the heroes would die in the video game dimension if she didn't. Emulator soon got in the machine and found herself trapped then KingofPWN revealed he was actually the mercenary assassin Arcade. Arcade berated Emulator and told her that he now had full control of her powers and he could summon any video game item from any reality that he wanted to. As the heroes battled Scorpiozard in the game, using undead squirrels to do so, they moved on to overload the game pocket dimension by collecting too many bones from skeletons over a course of weeks (time moved faster in the pocket dimension). The heroes then returned to Earth but Arcade easily used Emulator's powers to send them back into the pocket dimension, where they found demonic chickens ready to attack.

(Marvel Rising: Omega#1) – As Arcade taunted the heroes with threats, Emulator struggled to free herself. She managed to manifest herself within the pocket dimension as a wisp that helped the heroes survive against dragons and to find their way out. She soon managed to overload the machine and Arcade went missing. Emulator was left seemingly dead from the overload but she managed to use her powers to grant herself an extra life.

(Marvel Rising Omega#1 (fb) – BTS) – Emulator was taken to New Attilan, where she trained in using her powers, interacting with Medusa, Moon Girl, Devil Dinosaur and others.

(Marvel Rising Omega#1) – Three weeks later, Emulator greeted Squirrel Girl, Tippy-Toe, Inferno and Ms. America when they came to visit.

(Marvel Rising II#3) – When Morgan le Fey attacked New Attilan, Squirrel Girl recruited Emulator to help fight her and Emulator summoned a large magnet to help disable multiple knights in suits of armor. Emulator soon saw Ms. Marvel, Ms. America, Tippy-Toe, Iso and Spider-Man (Miles Morales), who she was thrilled to recognize from his video game, and she learned that Morgan le Fey had possessed Inferno, turning him to her side. Morgan soon summoned a giant green monster to help her fight.

(Marvel Rising II#4) – Emulator, Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, Tippy-Toe, Ms. America, Iso, Spider-Man and Quake fought the giant monster, who they named Treshie after discovering it was made of magically animated trash. After Quake broke Inferno's mind control, Morgan attacked anew.

(Marvel Rising II#5) – Tippy-Toe, Emulator, Iso, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Quake and the others saw Inferno take a stand against Morgan le Fey. Squirrel Girl and Ms. Marvel won Treshie over to her side then they separated Morgan from her amulet, the Eye of Igraine, and freed Beavan and Tyson from mind control though Morgan's assistant Mothball helped Morgan escape on the back of a gryphon.
