History: (Spider-Man Magazine (I#17) (fb) - BTS) - Peter Parker was bitten by a radioactive bird.

(Spider-Man Magazine (I#17)) - Gaining a superhuman "special sense" from the radioactive bird bite, Parker became the adventurer Faite's Wing, using his newfound power in addition to wings and razor-sharp disks to battle any enemies of Avenger.

Comments: Created by John Guzzo.

Faite's Wing was the product of an article in Spider-Man Magazine (I#17) called "What If?," in which children drew their the answer to the question "What if Peter Parker had been bitten by a radioactive bird instead of a spider?" In Faite's Wing's case, he was created by then-13-year-old John Guzzo of Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Being that Faite's Wing is Earth-96620's Peter Parker, it's likely he possessed the same relatives, eye color and hair color that his Earth-616 counterpart had but there was no confirmation of this in-story. Since he existed on an alternate reality, it's equally possible that he did not have the same relatives and since he was never seen outside of his costume, it's possible he had a different hair and eye color. In addition, it was unrevealed if he weighed the same as his Earth-616 counterpart. Given that he was given bird-like powers, it's possible his bones became hollow to better adapt to flight so he might weigh less than his Earth-616 counterpart. It was also not clear if the wings possessed by Faite's Wing were a superhuman power or if he used artificial wings. It was equally unclear what exactly his "special sense" did.

It was not clear who "Avenger" was, only that Faite's Wing shared enemies with Avenger.

The issue of Spider-Man Magazine featuring Faite's Wing was not numbered but recent reprints of the comic strips from that issue in Adventures of Spider-Man & Adventures of the X-Men trade paperbacks identified the issue as #17.
