History: (Unbeatable Squirrel Girl I#5 (fb) – BTS) – On Earth-15705, the Red Skull created a robot Skulldroid then disguised the droid as Bass Lass, a woman with a fish head in a dress. Bass Lass then replaced the wings on Captain America's mask with miniaturized radio electro-processors, which slowly brainwashed Cap. He made plans to split Cap up from partner, Squirrel Girl, who'd once defeated Hydra with Cap and who used the Squirrel-a-Gig from her base, the Squirrel Nest, to fight crime.

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl I#5) – Cap announced to Squirrel Girl that he was dumping her (and Monkey Joe) as his teammates and that Bass Lass was his new teammate. Cap then began turning against democracy and toward totalitarianism. Squirrel Girl soon tore off the radio transistors, freeing Cap. Screaming with rage, Bass Lass revealed her true identity and the Skulldroid was defeated. Later adventures showed Squirrel Girl fighting the Reverse Detective and Cap fighting Corporal USA. Somehow glimpsing Earth-15705 in her memories, an older woman on Earth-616 later told the story of Squirrel Girl and Captain America vs. Bass Lass/Skulldroid to Earth-616's Nancy Whitehead during a hostage situation inside the Statue of Liberty.

Comments: Created by Ryan North, Erica Henderson and Chris Giarrusso.

In Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#37, Squirrel Girl-616 wears a disguise as Bass Lass, alongside Nancy Whitehead's costume, which she calls Fish Miss.
This suggests that either a) Bass Lass does indeed exist on Earth-616 & Squirrel Girl was dressing as her, b) Squirrel Girl glimpsed Earth-15705's Bass Lass (possibly in a dream or something) & thereby decided to dress as her or c) Earth-616's Nancy Whitehead told Squirrel Girl about the story she had been told about Bass Lass, inspiring Squirrel Girl to dress as Bass Lass. My vote is for c. --Proto-Man
