History:
(Daredevil Annual I#4B/1 (fb) - BTS) - Leo Baxter grew up in Albany, New York, with his friend Wally Jordon. The two cut classes and frequently drank together, and Leo considered Wally his best friend. Wally got his girlfriend Clarisse pregnant and then married her, and Leo resented Clarisse for breaking up their friendship. Wally grew violent with Clarisse in front of his child, and he eventually enrolled himself in a drug treatment program.

(Daredevil Annual I#4B/1 (fb) - BTS) - When he didn't hear from Wally, Leo went looking for him at Save Our Society, but he was turned away.

(Daredevil Annual I#4B/1) - As Horace complained about Save Our Society in front of the general store and café, Leo was complaining about Save Our Society. Outside, three serpent-like people from S.O.S. attacked Baxter with the intent to silence him, but Daredevil intervened, scaring them off. He stopped Baxter from firing a gun at them, but then indicated that he didn't want to help any further. Baxter pleaded for help, telling him about his long friendship with Wally, but Daredevil still refused. With his gun, Baxter went to S.O.S., where he knocked out one snake man, then he was attacked by a mind-controlled Spider-Man. Daredevil rushed in to hold off Spider-Man, so Baxter rushed forward but was then attacked by Wally in his snake-form. Wally hissed that he didn't want to be saved in the first place. As other snake-men closed in, they demanded that Wally kill Baxter, but just then, Dr. Strange trapped the snake-men in the Crimson Bands of Cytorrak, pulling Baxter free. The S.O.S. clinic was destroyed, Spider-Man was freed from mind-control, and Dr. Strange removed the memory that he had ever been there. When Wally was restored to normal, Baxter rejoiced, but Wally was furious, saying he was never more than a drinking buddy with Baxter and wasn't his friend. Hurt and angry, Baxter drew his gun on Wally, but Daredevil knocked the shot aside. Baxter fell in the mud, facing up to the truth about himself for the first time.

Comments: Created by Gerry Conway, Mark Bagley, and Sam DeLaRosa.

The "Atlantis Attacks" Daredevil Annual was labeled #4 when it should have been 5, as an Annual #4 had been released years earlier (featuring the villainy of Mind-Master). So most people label this Annual #4B, meaning there IS no Daredevil Annual I#5.
