History: (Daredevil
V#8 (fb) – BTS) – Telepath Alexander Apex used
his powers to hustle casinos in poker games all over the world but
eventually,
he was caught as casinos employed their own telepaths to catch him. One
casino
in Macau offered him a job winning games for them or they would kill
him, and
Apex agreed.
(Daredevil V#8) – Matt Murdock, posing as Laurent
Levesseur,
beat high stakes players Chang, Flex,
Hank and Ms. Marcos, and
flirted with Adhira, before he faced a drunk Apex
in a game. "Laurent" was
able to shield his thoughts from Apex, as Matt was unable to even see
his
cards, so Apex assaulted him telepathically but couldn't break through
his
defenses. As Matt won the poker game, Apex got a bloody nose and then
collapsed.
