History:
(X-Men II#100 (fb) - BTS) - Anteus and the Neo lived peacefully for years until the High Evolutionary, influenced by Mr. Sinister switched off the X-gene in all of Earth's mutants, resulting in many Neo's death.

(X-Men II#102 - BTS) - Anteus joined Domina and her Warclan in search of revenge against those responsible for their suffering and set her sights on the X-Men in the opening salvo of their war against humans and mutants. Anteus and the others took up residence in the St. Michael's Church Complex in Brooklyn, what was to become Domina's stronghold.

(X-Men II#102 - BTS) - Determined to proof his worth and become the Warclan's leader, Rax gathered several clan-members to search and find Nightcrawler and Cecilia Reyes. Reyes, responsible for killing Jaeger (albeit in self-defense) and the heavily injured Nightcrawler had hidden themselves in the Church Complex. Rax eventually located the duo and drove them towards his team.

(X-Men II#102) - Anteus attacked Cecilia Reyes, who'd taken the highly addictive and power enhancing drug Rave, believing it to be her only chance of survival. Anteus kept on hammering Reyes' protective shield boasting she would surely make a mistake after which he would kill her. Reyes, however then shaped her force-field into a baseball bat, hitting Anteus aside after which Salvo came to his rescue. However, mere moments later the X-Men bursted through the wall, coming to save Nightcrawler and Reyes. Anteus immediately attacked Colossus but was attacked in turn by Psylocke. Right before Anteus could kill Psylocke she was saved by Archangel who shoved his wings in Anteus' face. In an attempt to trap the X-Men inside the Church Complex Domina ordered Barbican to seal the building. Domina's plan, however, didn't completely work as Psylocke and Reyes managed to maintain an opening until the X-Men could escape. Only Reyes decided to stay behind to go and find Detective Jones who'd been merged with criminal Rufus Delgado.

(X-Men II#106) - When the X-Men returned to save Jones and Reyes from the Neo stronghold Anteus was amongst the Warclan facing the X-Men. During the battle Anteus fought Colossus and quickly gained the upper hand after which he went after Psylocke. Once Anteus had dealt with Psylocke, Colossus returned and managed to put the Neo down. In the end one of the Neo, Elysia stepped in to convince the X-Men were not their enemies. Though unconvinced, Domina allowed the X-Men to leave.

(X-Men II#110) - Still living in the Church Complex after their initial bout with the X-Men, Anteus joined Salvo, Tartarus and Rax in an effort to convince Domina to act instead of hiding. However, before anybody could react the group was in for a shocker when Magneto suddenly appeared, tearing the roof off the church complex in a mighty show of force. Without explaining himself Magneto simply ordered the Neo to kneel to which Rax and Salvo answered by attacking the master of magnetism. With something less than a furrowed brow, Magneto tore apart his would-be assailants. Stunned by what she just witnessed Domina dropped to her knees and allowed her Warclan to be recruited in Magneto's army on Genosha.

(X-Men: Earth's Mutant Heroes#1 - BTS) - Elysia and Tartarus of the Neo had created manifestations of the late Anteus, Jaeger, Rax and Salvo, and, joined by Junction went to San Francisco seeking revenge for their people's death on Genosha. Since most had been forced to serve in Magneto's army after which Cassandra Nova's Wild Sentinels attacked Genosha.

(Young X-Men#12 - BTS) - Arriving at the Golden Gate Bridge the Neo were opposed by the Young X-Men. During the battle "Anteus" fought Rockslide.

Comments: Created by Chris Claremont (writer), Leinil Francis Yu (pencils), Mark Morales (inks).

In X-Men II#106, Colossus called him Antaeus.

It was widely assumed that Anteus like other Warclan members were recruited in Magneto's army on Genosha to consequently be murdered when Cassandra Nova's Wild Sentinels annihilated the population.

The Neo received a profile in the X-Men - Earth's Mutant Heroes (2011). The Neo were a society of Homo sapiens superior, an evolutionary offshoot of humanity born with the mutant X-gene, which gave them superhuman abilities. The Neo lived in seclusion for many generations and believed they were superior to humans and other mutants.
