Powers/Abilities: Great White possesses no known superhuman abilities. He has the strength of a man who engages in regular, intense exercise intended to build and maintain a muscular physique. He was experienced in training sharks to do his bidding, commanding up to five of them at the same time. Great White could even ride a shark by holding on to its fin. Obsessed with looking like his namesake, Great White used vast amounts of sunblock to retain a pale appearance.

History:
(Namor: The First Mutant#5 (fb) - BTS) - The man who would become known as Great White used his love for and knowledge of sharks to capture and train five great whites. Fusing them into a tight team that did his bidding, Great White decided to use them to take over the Hawaiian island Maui.
(Namor: The First Mutant#5 (fb)) <four years prior to story> - Determined to prove to the people of Maui he "owned" the island, Great White wanted to make an example of local surfer Alaka'i Ryan Jr. and his daughter Alani Ryan. He grabbed Ryan Jr. by the throat and threw him towards the sharks, after which he proclaimed the island was his. Alani didn't want her father to become shark chowder and made her way over to him while the pack of sharks was already circling him. But when one of the sharks jumped out of the water towards her father she leaped from her surfboard towards the shark. Because of the tension, Alani suddenly manifested her mutant abilities. When she touched the shark, it disintegrated instantly. Shocked a mere girl had just killed one of his pets Great White steered his shark steed towards her. Before he could kill Alani and her dad, the Sub-Mariner arrived. He first rescued father and daughter and then faced Great White who had no idea who Namor was. The Avenging Son took out Great White with a single punch. Great White was presumably turned over to the proper authorities.

Great White was a fun little character created to give the X-Men student Loa an origin story (she's Alani). Time works differently in the Marvel Universe than in real life. It was explained the flashback/origin adventure takes place four years before the main story. That means it would have happened before New Mutants II#11 (June, 2004) the first appearance of Loa.
