History:
(Human Fly I#4 (fb) - BTS) - David Dreir was a munitions manufacturer who had grown cold toward his wife Angeline by the time their daughter, Alexandra, stricken with polio, had been born. Dreir focused on money and his wife divorced him, marrying a rival weapons maker, Marion Martinet. Angeline passed away but the rivalry between Dreir and Martinet only intensified with Alexandra seen as a prize to be secured against the other.
(Human Fly I#3 (fb)) - One of Dreir's political campaign rallies for governorship was broken up by masked thugs deployed by Martinet, who later rescued Alexandra from Dreir's mansion. Soon after, not wanting police intervention, Dreir approached stuntman-adventurer Human Fly for help after a successful show, providing selective information to secure the Fly's charitable support.
(Human Fly I#4) - But Dreir intended the Human Fly to
be the unwitting distraction while he mounted a fully weaponized
assault on Martinet. Dreir lured two of the Fly's allies, Arnie
Berman and Harmony Whyte, to his mansion to act as hostages, then held
them captive in his tank as he led the charge on Martinet's mountain
fortress. The two armed forces clashed violently on the mountain side until
eventually Dreir and Martinet confronted each other face to face, oblivious of the
deadly danger Alexandra was in right next to them until the Human Fly rescued her. Dreir
and Martinet shamefully ended their battle.

Dreir's weapons focused more on fancy tanks (or "mobile assault tower"), half tracks and motorbikes, while Martinet had the more flamboyant mechanical flying war-hawks and hover platforms.

Alexandra "Lexy" Dreir was the daughter of David and
Angeline Dreir. She had been stricken with polio since birth. Her
parents had divorced and she stayed with her now widower father, but
was kidnapped by her stepfather Marion Martinet as part of the men's
escalating and bitter rivalry. The Human Fly helped free her when she
was caught in the midst of a fierce armed battle between Dreir's and
Martinet's forces, and saved her from falling to her death. This shamed
the men into a truce and the Human Fly took her to a nearby hospital to
receive care.
