History:
(Blonde Phantom#19/3 - BTS) - Nick Gaynor was a very wealthy man who was friends with the Sub-Mariner and his cousin Namora.
(Blonde Phantom#19/3) - Wealthy playboy Nick Gaynor couldn't stomach the fact that his ex-girlfriend Kathy was about to marry another man. He decided to have her boyfriend Barry killed by staging a boat accident. Offering to throw them a big engagement party on his yacht, he hired arsonist Charlie Manelli to make sure there would be an accident in which Barry would perish. He even invited well known heroes Namor the Sub-Mariner and Namora. In the midst of the party Gaynor and his accomplice struck the young couple down, leaving the party with Kathy, he had his accomplice tie down Barry and set of a firebomb. Namor and Namora, who were already suspicious of the captain, made sure all the guests had left the ship and found Barry tied up, with him free the three made way for Gaynor. After a very brief fist fight Namor captured Gaynor and Manelli and handed them over to the police, foiling Nick's plans.

Arsonist Charlie Manelli was hired by Nick Gaynor to pretend he was the captain of his ship. He was supposedly an old cape cod fishing captain that had been in service of Gaynor for years. When Gaynor plotted to murder Barry in a fire to get his ex-girlfriend back the plan was foiled by Namor and Namora and Gaynor and Manelli were turned over to the police.

Kathy was Nick Gaynor's ex girlfriend who was about to marry Barry. Both felt spoiled rotten when Gaynor offered them a huge engagement party on a ship with special guests Namor the Sub-Mariner and his cousin Namora. After Barry was rescued from the fire by Namor he was more determined than ever to get his fiancé back. The lovers were overjoyed when they were reunited.
