History:

(Death's Head I#2 - BTS) - The Chaney Maximum Security Prison was built to hold all criminals society wanted to lose forever. However, in 8152 AD they discovered the prison was built on a major fault line. Chaney Maximum Security Prison was swallowed up by the earth in less than ten minutes. The authorities assumed all prisoners on the lower levels had been killed instantly and decided to leave it as it were. The surviving members of the Chaney Maximum Security Prison collapse were unable to leave the ruins because their prolonged captivity had left them severely agoraphobic. Now calling themselves the Chain Gang, they forced newer inmates, who didn't have their fear of open spaces to go out to scavenge and steal for them.

(Death's Head I#2 (fb)) - Scavenger was one of the errand boys of the Chain Gang, who would go out to scavenge for useful items. Fox, the team's leader, placed a small explosive to Scavenger's leg to prevent him from fleeing. Eventually gaining enough trust, the explosive was removed, and Scavenger did indeed flee the group to eventually join the Dragon's Claws.

(Dragon's Claws#5/Death's Head I#1 - BTS) - Members of the Chain Gang found Death's Head's body in the ruins of Evil Dead's base and decided to rebuild it. This took weeks as Spratt equipped him with new legs, weapons, gadgets and a new set of clothes.

(Death's Head I#1) - Sabre regularly checked in on Spratt's progress until Death's Head reactivated.

(Death's Head I#2 - BTS) - The Chain Gang hired Death's Head to retrieve Dragon's Claws' member Scavenger, their former member, who managed to escape.

(Death's Head I#2) - Death's Head went out to find Scavenger and soon returned with their wayward member. Appearing before their leader Fox, who demanded to know why Scavenger betrayed them. When Scavenger's new team Dragon's Claws appeared to rescue their team member both team's fought. Scavenger fought Fox, leading him towards the ruins' exit. When Fox realized he was outside of the prison's ruins his mind shut down due to his phobia. All remaining members of the Chain Gang were arrested by the Dragon's Claws and turned over to the proper authorities. Former member Spratt joined up with Death's Head.
