Identity/Class: Extraterrestrial (1950s)

Occupation: Servant spy

Group Membership: None

Affiliations: Masters from outer space, Elias, Dr. Parkes

Enemies: Human race

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Earth

First Appearance: Journey into Mystery I#19/2 (November, 1954)

Powers/Abilities: Shapeshifting, telepathy, hypnosis. Birthed and trained for espionage Skaa could perfectly assume the form of body, brain and clothes of any human being. Thanks to his telepathic powers he could even duplicate the feelings and the language abilities, but could not acquire all the memories. The telepathic power was so strong that he could hear and speak with his masters through interstellar distances. He also had a strong hypnotic power with which he could subjugate a man's will. His genetic structure was endowed by a destruction device which could be activated telepathically by his masters.
In his original form Skaa was a little taller and sturdier than a normal human.

History: (Journey into Mystery I#19/2) - Created by an alien race living in the far reaches of space Skaa was given incredible powers with the purpose of acquiring detailed informations about the military defenses of the planet Earth.
Skaa was the vanguard of the invasion. While the fleet of spaceships traveled to Earth. Skaa landed in the United States with his spaceship to gather the information he needed.

Skaa landed by night and, receiving telepathically orders from his masters, started his mission. He assumed the form of a human being walking near him: Elias. The duplication was so perfect that Skaa also acquired pity and kindness, traits very different from evil and wickedness, inherited from his masters.
In his new form Skaa went to find Dr. Parkes, Elias' employer. Parkes was an important government scientist and, under Skaa's hypnosis told almost all about Earth's defenses. Skaa translated the data and sent them telepahically to his masters, but the kindness and the feelings he had acquired from the good Elias enabled him to omit an important particular. The masters from space triggered the destruction of Skaa just while Parkes explained that Earth had an atomic-based system of defense from space attacks. Skaa started dying and his control over Parkes faded. While he returned to his original form, he confessed his feelings to Parkes, knowing that not telling about the atomic shield protection to his masters would cause them to attack and to die, so he saved Earth.

Comments: Created by unknown (writer), Tony Forte (pencils and inks).

Was Skaa a weapon genetically created for the mission or was he a member of the same race as his masters, but endowed with extra powers? Based on the coldness and cruelty shown by the masters I lean toward the second hypothesis.

Profile by Spidermay.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Skaa the Un-human has no known connections to

Elias

Elias was a normal man. He was kind and generous.
Elias worked for Dr. Parkes and in his free time helped orphans and the unfortunates living in the slums.

Elias was unaware of the arrival of Skaa's spaceship and of his duplication, but in the end the good side of his humanity duplicated by Skaa actually saved Earth.

Dr. Parkes

Dr. Parkes was a normal human and a scientist.
Elias worked for the government and had an extensive knowledge about the technological level of armies and military defenses.

Dr. Parkes was Elias' employer. One night he saw Elias coming back, a few minuts after he had left to go home. But Elias was actually Skaa, who hypnotized Parkes and interrogated him about Earth's defenses. Parks told Skaa everything he knew about the defenses, but when the alien masters switched on Skaa's genetic destruction device, Parkes became aware of his actions again. He had the time to hear Skaa's confession, before watching him die, annihilated to a tiny piece of matter.
