History:

(Savage She-Hulk#1/Savage She-Hulk#2 - BTS) - Dr. Jonathan Ridge is a neighbor and close friend of Jennifer Walters, the daughter of Los Angeles County Sheriff Morris Walters. His son, "Zapper," has been friends of Jennifer since they were kids. When Jennifer was shot by hit-men hired by Nicholas Trask, Jennifer's cousin, Dr. Bruce Banner, broke into Ridge's medical office to give her a transfusion and save her life. As a result of this transfusion, Jennifer became the superhumanly powerful She-Hulk, a fact Dr. Ridge and his wife were not aware of for some time.

(Savage She-Hulk#2) - While setting up his grill, Dr. Ridge is initially perturbed to be told his wife is calling for him, but his temper changes when he hears Jennifer and her friend, Jill Stevens, have stopped by for a visit. His wife invites them to dinner.

(Savage She-Hulk#3) - Dr. Ridge and his wife are visited by Sheriff Morris Walters in a distraught emotional state over the seeming death of Jennifer in a car crash. Trying to assuage the sheriff's feelings, he regrets not being able to tell him that Jennifer is in hiding from another murder attempt at his beach house on Zuma Beach near Malibu.

(Savage She-Hulk#15) - Dr. Ridge turns to Jen to defend him in a malpractice suit over claims that he carelessly misdiagnosed a singer named Dahlia of diabetes. She gets enough evidence to clear the charges, but Dr. Ridge just wants to settle out of trial with an out-of-court settlement. Jen tries to talk him out of it in order to force Dahlia to face her diabetes, but Ridge still wants a peaceful settlement.

(Savage She-Hulk#23) - Dr. Ridge asks Zapper about the shambles and damage to the Walters home next door following Jen's struggle to reject her normal identity and stay the She-Hulk. Zapper rushes out to refrain from revealing Jen's dual identity crisis as his mother wonders if he's in trouble. Dr. Ridge just wants to leave it up to his son to reveal what's going on in his own time. Meanwhile, the Ridge's Zuma beach house is decimated in the She-Hulk's battle with Torque.

Comments: Created by David Anthony Kraft and Mike Vosburg.

Dr. Ridge's first name is revealed in She-Hulk I #4, but by She-Hulk II #52, Zapper's real name is revealed as Dr. Daniel Ridge Jr. - suggesting he was named after his father. However, it's entirely possible that the younger Ridge simply doesn't use his first name in order to separate his medical career from his father's.

On the other hand, Dr. Ridge's wife's name does not seem to have been revealed in the original She-Hulk series; if it's there somewhere in the text, I don't know where it is.

Dr. Ridge is probably supposed to be one of the personages plucked from Jen's past by the Time Variance Authority to stand for the She-Hulk in She Hulk II#3, but this is debatable.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Dr. Jonathan Ridge is not to be confused with:

Mrs. Ridge

Mrs. Ridge is Dr. Ridge's wife and Zapper's mother. She receives the phone call about papers from the district attorney's office which sends Jennifer's friend, Jill, to her death by Trask's men. She is home when Sheriff Walters wanders by and also stops by Jen's house afterward looking for Zapper while he was in a tavern with several Other Realm barbarians.
