(Ultraverse trading card #14 (fb) - BTS) - Arch Novell was a normal human who was unwillingly involved a magic ritual that was to channel a Darkurian demon and consume his body in the process. But something went awry, and Novell and the demon merged into one body. Novell sought a peaceful end, but the demon wanted to stay alive.

Comments: Created by an uncredited writer and Bingham (art).

Darkurians are from the Wold, an enormous magic realm in the Ultraverse. Meathook (from the villainous Quattro team) and Outrage (from the Solution team) are Darkurians.

Given where he's put the blade of his knife, I'm guessing he's not concerned about his left leg.

If memory serves me correct, one of the "Ultraverse Founders" Tom Mason stated that every character in the Ultraverse trading card set was meant to appear in the comics, although I'm not sure about this one. The human half of Requiem appears A LOT like the original design for Firearm by Jerry Bingham (see comments in that profile), which appeared in The Malibu Sun March 1993 Preview magazine. The teased plotline and gun remained the same for the final comic, but the character's final look changed significantly. It may be that Firearm (as he was originally designed) was initially intended to be possessed by the demon in issue #0, resulting in the human/demon hybrid shown in the trading card, but Firearm was subsequently redesigned for whatever reason.
