History:

(Cloak & Dagger I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Duane was fired from three drugstores for petty thievery over the course of one year. Duane felt he was treated unfairly and plotted to take revenge upon his former employers by causing some bad publicity....through murder.

(Cloak & Dagger I#2) - Duane laced aspirin with cyanide and added the tampered bottle to the stock of one of his former employers. A woman bought the tampered tablets and died.
Duane repeated the process at one of his two other former employers. This time the unlucky buyer survived, but was left in critical condition. The buyer was taken to Bellevue hospital.

Detective Brigid O'Rielly suspected Duane due to this connection to the first two stores and told Cloak and Dagger, who offered to help her catch the murderer, that Duane's third former employer, Ray's Drugstore in Hell's Kitchen, would likely become the third target. Cloak and Dagger teleported to Ray's Drugstore at night and caught Duane in the act of adding poisoned aspirin to the store's stock. He fled behind the counter to get Ray's shotgun and shot at the vigilantes, but Dagger struck him with one of her light daggers, stunning him temporarily. O'Rielly arrived and heard the shot, but failed to pull out Duane when Cloak drew him into the Darkforce dimension. O'Rielly ordered Cloak to release Duane, but he didn't comply.

(Cloak & Dagger I#3) - Some time later Cloak aided O'Rielly against a street gang at the Holy Ghost Church. Afterward he opposed his own hunger (and thereby the Predator) and released Duane from the Darkforce dimension. Duane was still alive (surprise, surprise) and O'Rielly took him into custody.....not Cloak, because he wasn't a murderer.

Duane Hellman has a name to kill for. Seriously! A pretty cool name for such a wimpy coward.

IMHO he should return and turn into a freak of nature like Shriek did. His name has super-villain written all over it! Make it happen!
