History:

(World of Fantasy#7/7 (fb) - BTS) - Clad in gray, Destroyers were a sect dedicated to the destruction of humankind. One Destroyer infiltrated the government building of the Trouble-shooters, overpowered an agent and took his permit number so that he could use a time machine and travel back in time to the 20th Century and influence a scientist.

(World of Fantasy#7/7) - The captive Trouble-shooter escaped and a two-man mission quickly assembled to stop the Destroyer, who had since arrived in an invisible ghost-like form at his location in the past (1950s era) where he would identify the final element in a destructive device. However, he mistakenly whispered the formula to a janitor instead of the scientist and was apprehended by the Trouble-shooters.

Comments: Created by uncredited writer and artist.

The time-travel machines left the travelers intangible and invisible yet audible to people of the past. They also seemed to travel only to the fixed (future) point; no suggestion of future time travel beyond 6965 was indicated.

Given their genocidal nature, it's strange that the Destroyer only bound and hid the Trouble-shooter rather than kill him after he initially entered their building. Perhaps the time-travel permit was linked to the life of the Trouble-shooter...?

Trouble-shooters

The Trouble-shooters were a government-sanctioned organization primarily established to stop scientific discoveries in the past that would doom their own civilization. Part of their role was to apprehend Destroyers. They used time machines and carried weapons that could stop the Destroyers.
