History:

(Solution#14 (fb)) - Born to Chinese parents in the Golden Triangle who were opium farmers and addicts, he too became an addict when aged five years old. Not wanting the same future as his parents, he went to work for a local yet cruel drug lord. There the guards trained him in martial arts and gave him the opportunity to kill the drug lord with a sword when aged 16. He fled to Hong Kong where he met up with the Dragon Fang crime cartel, becoming effectively a soldier for them.

(Solution#6 (fb)) - Kyle Saunders used Bloodshed and Black Tiger to intimidate and force Lela Cho (later Tech of the Solution) to sign over her company, but she was able to escape.

(Solution#14 (fb)/Ultraverse card #49) Five years later, he was given bio-enhancements to be ranked an ultra assassin.

(Solution#1) - In a warehouse, Xheng Hark of the Dragon Fang hired Bloodshed, Incoming and Black Tiger to stop the Solution from preventing a large shipment of drugs being distributed. The Solution attacked and the three mercenaries split up to tackle a separate member of the crime-fighting team; Bloodshed took on Dropkick but was no match for his opponent's fighting skills. The Solution decided to let them live, destroying only the cargo.

(Solution#14) - Frustrated and angered at losing to the Solution, he trained hard, taking every opportunity to kill. He searched out the violent assassins of the Orange Lotus Cult in Hong Kong, who were likewise looking for him, and brutally killed all five killers sent against him. Later, the head of the Dragon Fang brought Bloodshed together with Black Tiger and Incoming, and introduced them to their new team leader, Casino. Bloodshed and Black Tiger were both outraged that they would have to work under a woman.

(Solution#15) - Casino told them their team would be dubbed Dragonfire but Bloodshed denied her authority. She challenged one of them to unarmed combat, but easily defeated Black Tiger. With no further resistance, she told the three assassins her plans to trap the Solution in Taiwan. However, the Solution arrived early and Dragonfire separated to attack the members of the Solution by stealth.

(Solution#16) - Bloodshed attacked and drew blood from Dropkick, who had already felled Black Tiger. Bloodshed swung his sword down to cut his opponent's head off, but Dropkick instead caught the blade, and channeled his ki energy despite the pain and blood loss. The ki energy transferred up the blade and knocked out Bloodshed.

(Solution#17) - Bloodshed lay inert as Dropkick recovered and escaped.

Bloodshed's real name was revealed on the Ultraverse trading card #49 (1993). This card also states that he belongs to a group in the Dragon Fang called the Eliminators - perhaps this was the name of the three-man team before Casino turned up.

Chang's place of birth is cited as the Golden Triangle. This region in southeast Asia spans mountains in Burma, Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
