ANTHIGORITE race

Classification: Semi-humanoid extraterrestrial race

Location/Base of Operations: Unrevealed (see comments)

Known Members: Krru

Affiliations: None identified

Enemies: Jaddak (Skrull)

First Appearance: Avenger I#209 (July, 1981)

Powers/Abilities: Krru, at least, had a 5000 year lifespan; it is unrevealed whether this is characteristic of all Anthigorites.

Krru had a starship with presumably warp-drive capacity, but lacking weaponry (or perhaps Krru lacked the skill or desire to use it) to combat a Skrull ship.

Krru had technology aboard his ship capable of transporting at least inanimate objects across time and space.

Krru's starship included a recorder-logs, in which details of his actions were detailed (whether by his own input or by automatic recordings).

Traits: The sole Anthigorite ever mentioned, Krru, was an archeologist and respected as a sage. He was also experienced in starship navigation and time machine operation.

Type:  Bilaterally symmetric semi-humanoid bipeds
Eyes:
Two (on head; color unidentified)
Fingers:
Three (including opposing thumb)
Toes:
Unrevealed (wear boots comparable to a human's)
Skin color: Gray
Average height: Approximately 6'10"?  (there's no good scale, but lying dead on the ground, he looks a lot more massive than the Skrull walking over him)

History:
(Avenger I#209 (fb)) - Anthigorite archeologist Krru spent a good part of his 5000 year lifespan questing for the
Resurrection Stone.

(Avenger I#209 (fb) - BTS) - Learning of the Resurrection Stone and Krru, the Skrull Jaddak appreciated that Krru would one day locate the Stone, and began dogging Krru.

(Avenger I#209 (fb) - BTS) - Locating and recovering the Stone, Krru eventually concluded that it was inherently corruptive and that should have remained lost to the ages.

(Avenger I#209 (fb) / Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Update #1 (2010)) - When Jaddak moved in, Krru fled, leading Jaddak in pursuit across 12 solar systems in at least 2 galaxies. Finally, above Earth, Jaddak blasted him out of the sky..

(Avenger I#209) - Realizing his impending doom, Krru split the Stone in half and sent the two halves into Earth's past (England, September, 1348 AD; and the Nazi death camp Dachau, April 13, 1945), where he hoped they would be lost forever.

(Avenger I#209) - Krru crashed in the Nevada desert. As he crawled from the wreckage, Jaddak beamed down from his ship in Earth's atmosphere and shot Krru dead.

Learning what Krru had done from his recorder-log,  Jaddak plotted to recover the Stone.

Comments: Created by J.M. DeMatteis, Alan Kupperberg, and Dan Green.

One might speculate that Krru's race was native to the Milky Way galaxy because that edge of that galaxy was where the Resurrection Stone was created. However, the Skrulls were native to the Andromeda galaxy, and Jaddak the Skrull learned of Krru...which basically means we don't know whether the Anthigorites are native to the Milky Way, Andromeda, or some other galaxy altogether.
