Powers/Abilities: Somnus has the ability to draw forth an inky psychic substance from his mind and toss it towards an opponent. The substance then submerges in the opponent’s mind, causing them to enter a dream-like state and become overwhelmed with some sort of subconscious horror.
History:
(Silent War#2) - An investigating party of Inhumans, including Black Bolt, Crystal, Karnak, Medusa, and Somnus, traveled with Lockjaw to Earth to find the stolen Terrigen Crystals. Sentry stood guard and Karnak ordered Somnus to create a dream for Sentry. Somnus tossed one at Sentry, who deflected it into Karnak. After Black Bolt talked to Sentry, he ordered the Inhumans, with Lockjaw, to retreat. When they returned, Desidera and Luna revealed that more Crystals were with Quicksilver in New York.
(Silent War#4) - Somnus joined several Inhumans in attacking the Pentagon, to release captive Inhumans (Gorgon, Jolen, Kurani, and Nahrees) and the stolen Terrigen Crystals. Other Inhumans attacking included: Black Bolt, Crystal, Lockjaw, and Tonaja.
(Silent War#5) - The Mighty Avengers (Ares, Black Widow (Natasha Romanova), Iron Man (Tony Stark), Ms. Marvel (Carol Danvers), Sentry, Wasp, Wonder Man) arrived to stand against the Inhumans. Somnus hit Ares with a dream that mystified him with memories of all the blood he’d shed over the years. Somnus was then hit by a blast from the Wasp. The captives and Crystals retrieved, the Inhumans returned to the moon, leaving Black Bolt behind to defeat the Avengers.
