(Daredevil I#13 (fb) - BTS) - As a member of the modern-day pirate crew of the Plunderer (Parnival Plunder), Slagg pillaged the ships of the sea willingly, constantly watching for chances to seize power and riches for himself.
(Daredevil I#12) - Slagg and the others boarded and looted the famous Odyssey cruise ship, using their weaponry, such as grappling hooks and blast-ray guns, to terrorize the crew. When Daredevil attacked them, the pirates captured him and took him aboard their ship, leaving the Odyssey behind. The ship changed into a submarine and returned to the Plunderer's base in the Savage Land in Antarctica, where the Plunderer explained he was planning on forcing Daredevil to become one of the pirates. When they exited, they were attacked by Ka-Zar and Zabu and they were separated from Daredevil.
(Daredevil I#13) - The Plunderer led Slagg and the others in trying to find Ka-Zar, and grew furious when he crew asked why he was so interested in Ka-Zar. Slagg was determined to just bide his time until he could seize power from the Plunderer, knowing many of the men were loyal to Slagg himself. They soon found Daredevil and scared off the bestial Maa-Gor, who'd been trying to kill the hero. They realized that Daredevil had somehow gone blind, but Plunderer decided to keep the hero with them. He then revealed that Ka-Zar was his long-lost brother. Later, they captured Zabu in a pit and confronted Ka-Zar. As Slagg watched interestedly , Plunderer revealed that both he and Ka-Zar had halves of a medallion that would lead them to great treasure. At Plunderer's orders, Slagg had a cage lowered over Ka-Zar. They loaded him into the submarine and returned both he, Zabu, and Daredevil to their castle on an isolated island. The butler, Feepers, served them all grog which was laced with a sleeping potion and the crew fell asleep. Slagg, with his parrot on his shoulder, followed Plunderer to where Ka-Zar and Daredevil were. He drew his gun and planned to wrest the medallion away from them. As he came around the corner, he was shot by Feepers and killed. Plunderer found the body and framed Ka-Zar for the murder, but Ka-Zar was later cleared of the charges.
