Powers/Abilities: Slag could
affect objects on the
atomic level, causing them to "melt." Despite the "melting" effect,
Slag's
powers were not heat or fire-related.
History:
(Omega
Flight#1 (fb) ) – Seeking to
avoid the United States' Superhuman Registration Act, Slag fled to
Winnipeg,
Canada, where he robbed a bank, using his powers to melt through the
walls to
the cash. This was reported and screened on television.

It
was never revealed how Slag
obtained his powers. I choose to believe that he was mutated somehow
but it's
also possible he was a mutant and born with them.
