History:
(Strange Tales I#142/1 - BTS) - The Electronic Mask was created by the Fixer when he formed a partnership with Mentallo and the two subversives conspired to take over SHIELD.

(Strange Tales I#142/2) - Mentallo and the Fixer invaded SHIELD headquarters, easily making their way past all the automated defenses. They were finally opposed by a team of agents led by Nick Fury. After paralyzing the entire strike-force with "Element Z," they removed Fury's protective helmet and placed the Electronic Mask over his face, making him their slave.

(Strange Tales I#143) - The Fixer and Mentallo commanded Fury to sit at a table with a miniature H-bomb upon it. After securing Fury's wrists to the bomb, they removed the Electronic Mask.

Comments: Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Mike Esposito.

It seems to me like Mentallo and the Fixer never used the Electronic Mask to its full potential -- they just use it to avoid the inconvenience of lugging Nick Fury's carcass around... why not mass-produce 'em and create your own army of brain-slaves? (guess it's a good thing for the free-world that I chose to use my genius for good rather than evil)

In Marvel Two-in-One#26 (April, 1977), the Fixer introduced his Servo-Pods -- these were an updated version of the Electronic Mask, having much the same function, but with perfected micro-circuitry.
