main image

Type: Divergent Earth

Environment: Earth-like

Usual means of access: Presumably vibrational attunement

Dominant Life Form: Humans

Significant Inhabitants: The Mad Thinker, Spider-Man

First Appearance: What If? I#34 (August, 1982)

History:  (What If? I#34/26) - Marvel Comics teamed with the National Endowment for the Arts to produce comic books based on their world's Spider-Man having overly intellectual stories, one in particular involving the Mad Thinker.

Comments: Created by Roger Stern, Ed Hannigan, and Al Milgrom.

This reality diverged when its world's Marvel Comics began publishing overly intellectual comic books featuring their world's Spider-Man

The Mad Thinker and Spider-Man were only seen in a story that was intended to be one of this reality's comic books but since they existed in this reality in order to be co-opted into comic book form, I went ahead and made subprofiles for them.

Profile by Proto-Man.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Earth-Marvel Comics & the National Endowment for the Arts Presented Spidey Intellectual Stories has no known connections to

The Mad Thinker

The Mad Thinker was co-opted into a story for this reality's comic book, Spidey Intellectual Stories. In the story, the Mad Thinker had overly intellectual banter with Spider-Man, who eventually defeated the Thinker using logic.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man's life was co-opted into a story published by this reality's Marvel Comics. In the story, he battled the Mad Thinker using his overly intellectual banter and logic.

He presumably had the same superhuman strength, agility, and spider-sense that his Earth-616 counterpart.
