Powers/Abilities: The Pit-Viper carried various automatic weapons. She dressed to look exactly like the Viper, but did not have the Viper's trademark scar over the right side of her face.

History: (Punisher War Journal#45) - Posing as the Viper, the Pit-Viper contacted the Punisher and tested him by sending some of her flunkies to fight him. She then informed him that many criminal organizations would be meeting in Las Vegas to divide the Kingpin's empire, among them his enemies the Secret Empire. When he came to Las Vegas, she met up with him in his hotel room, offering him a folder full of information on which criminals were in town. He questioned her motives, but she claimed that they were a lot alike. They were interrupted when Chainsaw and the Praetorians attacked the hotel to kill the Punisher.

(Punisher War Journal#46) - The Pit-Viper helped the Punisher fight off Chainsaw and the Praetorians, then departed.

(Punisher War Journal#47) - The Pit-Viper provided a helicopter for the Punisher, Daredevil and Nomad to pursue the criminals who were leaving town. Fenris fired at their craft, but she survived their crash-landing. She helped them fight the Secret Empire's forces, and offered to help supply the Punisher with weaponry for his war against crime, but he turned down her offer. She then left the scene.

(Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. II#45 - BTS) - The Pit-Viper informed on the real Viper's attempt to steal nuclear weapons from Moscow, alerting Nick Fury in time to stop her.

(Silver Sable and the Wild Pack#15) - The Pit-Viper was trying to build up her criminal empire in the Bronx, but Captain America and Crippler of the Wild Pack were both on the scene trying to find her. Captain America managed to capture her, but the real Viper appeared and put a bullet in her head to keep her from talking, angered at the Pit-Viper for behaving independently and for selling her out to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Comments: Created by Chuck Dixon, John Hebert and Fred Fredericks.

Next time you read a story with the Viper that you don't like, remember that there's always an "out"-- it could be a Pit-Viper.
Cool! Now I can explain every single Viper story since Captain America I#419!!!

Another Pit-Viper served in the Viper's stead to capture an ambassador, but Silver Sable rescued him and exposed her as a mere Pit-Viper because she didn't have the real Viper's facial scars.
