History: (Mystic#12/3) - The Hooded Horror's origins are unknown. He began a reign of terror on New York's East Side, robbing and killing people on the streets at night. His rampage caused the local authorities to begin searching for him, and private citizens were terrified to leave their homes at night. Even with his callous attitude, the Horror agonized over the fact that he could never spend all the money he was stealing, as he could not show his "face" in public. He contacted several of the underworld's most powerful gangsters and offered them a deal to work with him. To show he meant business, he killed one of them with a touch. The rest agreed to his terms, but secretly plotted against him. When the Hooded Horror went to sleep, one of the gangsters crept into his room and slashed his neck. To the man's horror, there was no head under the mask, and it fell, empty, to the floor.

Comments: Created by Stan Lee, Carmine Infantino and Sy Barry.

Obviously, there was probably something supernatural going on with the Hooded Horror, but alas, we shall never know. It'd be neat if they brought him back though.
