EVILIZER

Classification: Toy Gun

Creator: Phantom

User/Possessors: Guardian (Mr. Doug), Phantom

First Appearance: Marvel Super-Heroes III#2 (July, 1990)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: It was a toy consisting of wood with glued on aluminium foil. It had no powers or any kind of function although Phantom claimed as a child that it had the power to destroy all villains.

History: (Marvel Super-Heroes III#2/4 (fb) ) - Phantom created the Evilizer and showed it to his sidekick Guardian. He hid it under a stone and told Guardian that he was only allowed to use it when Phantom was wounded. A few days later the Evilizer was gone and Phantom accused Guardian of the theft.

(Marvel Super-Heroes III#2/4) - Guardian was indeed the thief of the Evilizer and kept it almost twenty years hidden in the attic. When Phantom returned to get his revenge on Guardian, he took it to the nearest park in Springdale and put it on a stick to set up a trap for Phantom. Speedball watched them and they tried to shoot him because it was their primary objective that anyone who interfered with their game had to die. When Speedball was gone the former friends shot each other and died while crawling to the Evilizer. Speedball took the Evilizer and found out that it was only a toy.

Guardian

(Marvel Super-Heroes III#2/4 (fb) ) - Almost twenty years ago Mr. Doug dressed up as the crime-fighter Guardian and was the partner of Phantom. One day Phantom showed up with his newest invention the Evilizer. Doug stole the Evilizer after it was hidden beneath a stone by Phantom and they became archenemies. Doug was threatened by Phantom whenever they met until Phantom's family moved away.

(Marvel Super-Heroes III#2/4) - One day Doug and other citizens of Springdale witnessed the return of Phantom. Doug was afraid and took the Evilizer to the park to set up a trap for Phantom. With his cape and a gun he waited for Phantom and tried to shoot him, but he changed his target for awhile when he saw Speedball. Phantom was able to shoot Doug in the back, but Doug returned the favour by shooting Phantom in the chest. With his last breath Doug crawled to the Evilizer, but before he got there he died of his bullet wound.

Phantom

(Marvel Super-Heroes III#2/4 (fb) ) - As a young boy he dressed up as the crime-fighter Phantom and Guardian was his partner. One day he created the Evilizer and showed it to Guardian. He told Guardian that he was only allowed to use it when Phantom was wounded and that should be beware of its power. Phantom hid it beneath a stone and asked Guardian to swear on his life to tell nobody about it. Days later the Evilizer was gone and Phantom knew that Guardian had stolen it. From this day on they were enemies and Phantom only talked to Guardian in threats. Phantom's family moved away, but he never forgot about Guardian.

(Marvel Super-Heroes III#2/4) - Phantom returned to Springdale and told the surprised citizens that he hadn't forgotten about Guardian. Hours later Guardian returned with a gun and the Evilizer to the park where Phantom had already waited for him. Phantom tried to shoot Guardian, but when they saw Speedball they tried to shoot him first. When the hero was gone, Phantom was able to shoot Guardian in the back. His former friend turned around and Phantom was shot in the chest and crawled towards the Evilizer. He died of the bullet wound before reaching it.
