Powers/Abilities: Evilhawk possessed the
ability to animate an android body in a suit of cybernetic armor
generated in Null Space. Even after his mortal body was destroyed, his
mind continued to exist in Null Space and could force its will upon the
starship where the armors were fashioned in order to rebuild his
android body.
He also demonstrated telepathic
powers to influence other beings connected to the Darkhawk amulets and
to affect other amulets as they were in use by sending energy surges
through their amulet. His android body and armor's injuries could be
fully repaired in Null Space by the starship that housed his
consciousness.
In his Evilhawk form, he had a claw-cable on his right wrist which could be propelled as a grappling hook. His helmet provided telescopic and infrared vision. He possessed enhanced strength, agility and reflexes. The amulet on his chest had the ability to project concussive "darkforce" blasts and defensive force shields from his body. He also carried a staff which could likewise fire powerful concussive blasts and project an energy field that allowed him to levitate objects in contact with the field. The soles of his boots contained propulsion devices.
Prior to obtaining his Evilhawk armor, Bokk used a variety of extraterrestrial weapons including a pistol that fired plasma blasts. He piloted a small starship that was somehow able to journey through other dimensions by connecting to his armor's amulet.

History:
(Darkhawk I#25 (fb)) - Dargin Bokk was an intergalactic crimelord from
the planet Luq. He became concerned about the number of agents of his
who lost their lives in his service-- not out of compassion but because
it was so inconvenient for him to replace and retrain new thugs. One
day, he hit upon the idea of creating expendable yet repairable agents
who could be used as soldiers, smugglers, enforcers or explorers for
sale to the highest bidders.
Bokk decided to collect a number of the galaxies' greatest scientists and put them to work on this project. He began by taking Luq's keeper of the planet's data banks to reveal where the key discoveries had originated. With the names he received from the data bank, he began collecting his scientists. On one planet, Mondu had perfected technology that could shift a dying humanoid consciousness into a storage facility until a cure could be found for whatever disease had been afflicting an individual. Book held Mondu's family hostage to gain his allegiance.
Mandeja had perfected a teleportational system that could substitute one being for another. Rather than violent coercion, he simply bribed her with large quantities of rare gems. The human scientist Byron had been working on androids with built-in weapons. Bokk tortured Byron with electroshock until he complied.
Graczia had been working on artificial telepathy. Bokk blackmailed her with proof of a murder she had committed in her youth. Kig had learned how to control and contain the techno-virus. Bokk planted an explosive charge in Kig's neck to win him over. Finally, Ocsh had studied other dimensions and discovered the dimension dubbed Null Space. As a pure scientist, he agreed to work with Bokk simply to satisfy his curiosity.
Bokk assembled Mondu, Mandeja, Byron, Graczia, Kig and Ocsh aboard a starship which he then transported into Null Space. He placed his brother Dargin Ryne in charge of overseeing the scientists. Working together, the scientists built five prototype android bodies and for each one, an amulet which would enable the wielder to switch consciousnesses between their true form and the android, as well as access the various weapons built into the android bodies. These became known as the Darkhawks. However, as the project neared completion, all six scientists and even Ryne came to realize the evil which Bokk would be able to accomplish with the Darkhawks. Although Ryne remained unwilling to act against Bokk, the other six decided their lives and the lives of their families were nothing against halting Bokk.
Five of the scientists projected their consciousnesses into the five prototype androids, as these were the only weapons they had access to aboard the starship. The five of them began fighting against Bokk and his army of mercenaries to claim control over the starship. Bokk used information about the Darkhawks from his ship's computer banks to assist his men in battle but soon, Bokk realized even threatening the five Darkhawks' humanoid bodies wouldn't deter them. Taking a pistol, Bokk fired a plasma blast through the chest of Mandeja's Darkhawk, which was the most powerful of the five. When Mandeja swapped places with her true body to repair the android, Bokk shot her in the head, killing her, then claimed her Darkhawk amulet for himself. Calling himself Evilhawk, he unleashed his power against the other four Darkhawks. Unfortunately for him, he inadvertently blasted some delicate machinery aboard the starship. This set off an explosion which killed most of Bokk's men and incinerated his own body. Realizing he was now trapped in his android body, Evilhawk entered a smaller craft he had used to board the starship and used it to fly out of Null Space. However, as Ocsh was attempting to repair his android body during the explosion, his real body was destroyed and his consciousness took up residence inside the larger spacecraft, which remained in Null Space.
Using the telepathic devices
in his armor, Evilhawk monitored the activities of Byron and Mondu.
During the explosion, the two men had transferred their consciousnesses
out of their Darkhawk bodies and into the bodies of two humans on
Earth; Byron became known as Predecessor while Mondu was called St.
Johnny. Believing Evilhawk would come after them, Predecessor and St.
Johnny designed a new Darkhawk amulet. Because Ocsh had maintained the
starship in Null Space, this amulet was able to exchange the user with
a new android body. However, both men suffered mental troubles from
having transferred their minds into new bodies and found themselves
unable to resist as Evilhawk began to telepathically influence them.
Evilhawk used the techno-virus Kig had designed to fire a beam at St.
Johnny, which infected him with the virus, intending to eventually use
him as an agent on Earth. After the teenager Chris Powell took the new
amulet and became the Earth-based vigilante Darkhawk, Evilhawk realized
he had an opportunity to escape his android form by stealing Chris'
amulet and transferring his mind into Chris' human body.
(Darkhawk I#20) - Evilhawk began piloting his spacecraft towards Earth.
(Darkhawk I#21 - BTS) - Evilhawk sent a surge of energy through the amulet which Chris Powell used as Darkhawk, causing Chris to feel pain.
(Darkhawk I#22) - Evilhawk sent further surges of energy through the amulet to cause Darkhawk pain. Chris was surprised that, even when he wasn't in his Darkhawk form, he felt pain coming through his amulet. He also sent telepathic pain into the minds of Predecessor and St. Johnny for refusing to betray Darkhawk to him.
(Darkhawk I#23) - With St. Johnny's mind already crippled by alcohol, he succumbed to Evilhawk's threats and attacked Darkhawk in his techno-organic form. Evilhawk telepathically warned St. Johnny not to damage Chris' mortal body. When Darkhawk triumphed over St. Johnny, Evilhawk again sent a painful surge of energy through his amulet and sent him a mental message vowing that he would arrive and finish what St. Johnny began.
(Darkhawk I#24) - Evilhawk sent another surge through Darkhawk's amulet, this time using it to generate a dimensional portal that brought Evilhawk's entire starship into an amusement park in Queens, where Darkhawk had just finished fighting St. Johnny while the police force Code: Blue stood by. Evilhawk exited the starship and confronted Darkhawk, announcing his intent to claim his body. Evilhawk attacked Darkhawk, demonstrating his armor's superior power, along with his superior understanding of what their armors could do. At the same time, he performed a psychic assault on Darkhawk, trying to force him to become Chris Powell. Code: Blue attempted to drive off Evilhawk but their weapons were insufficient against him. Seizing Darkhawk with the energies from his staff, he loaded him into his starship and placed Darkhawk in restraints then began a flight into Earth's orbit. While his attention was away from Darkhawk, he began to muse how near he was to becoming a normal humanoid again. Sensing an opportunity, Darkhawk switched back to being Chris Powell to slip out of his restraints. Once he had, Evilhawk spun about and caught Chris by his wrist. He attempted to force Chris to surrender his amulet but Chris lashed out with his foot and struck a console that made the starship jolt out of control. Concerned for the device he'd built to seize Chris' body, Evilhawk released Chris, enabling Chris to become Darkhawk again. Darkhawk fired an energy blast through the floor of Evilhawk's starship then glided out towards Earth. Evilhawk gave chase and they wound up in New York City, where they continued their fight. Evilhawk snared Darkhawk with his cable claw but Darkhawk tried to distract him by removing his own helmet, revealing the horrible face he had beneath it. This gave Evilhawk pause long enough for Darkhawk to get free and knock Evilhawk down. Evilhawk was briefly stunned and when he came to, he angrily fired an energy blast from his amulet, turning its full power upon Darkhawk. This resulted in completely destroying Darkhawk's body, leaving only his amulet.
(Darkhawk I#25) - Evilhawk suddenly realized what he'd done and was afraid he'd killed Chris but his telepathy informed him Chris' mind was still connected to the amulet. He realized Ocsh must still have been maintaining Chris' body in Null Space. Evilhawk went in search of Predecessor and St. Johnny to force them to assist him and found them being assaulted by Chris' mother Grace and Chris' younger brothers Jason and Jonathan. Evilhawk threatened the Powells but decided to leave them alive in case they proved useful to him. Jason struck Evilhawk with a baseball bat but it broke against his armor. When Evilhawk considered killing Jason, St. Johnny offered to willingly assist Evilhawk. Using his staff to levitate Predecessor and St. Johnny, Evilhawk flew them away from the Powells to discuss his needs. Evilhawk showed them Darkhawk's amulet and demanded St. Johnny use the amulet's power to send him to Null Space. As the techno-virus again took control of him, St. Johnny declared he once again served Dargin Bokk and connected to the amulet, fashioning a portal which sent Evilhawk to his former ship in Null Space.
Aboard the ship in Null Space, Ocsh's internal defenses activated but Evilhawk immediately reasserted himself as the master of the vessel, beginning a mental struggle against Ocsh's mind to control the ship. Finally, Evilhawk overwhelmed Ocsh, leaving Chris defenseless. Chris asked for an explanation of where his own amulet came from and Evilhawk explained what his telepathy had revealed to him about Predecessor and St. Johnny's actions. Chris tried to fight back by grabbing one of Ocsh's servo-drones to use as a weapon but Evilhawk easily grabbed the drone with his cable claw then restrained Chris.
Evilhawk prepared to transfer his consciousness into Chris' body. Having seen the mental troubles Predecessor and St. Johnny suffered from, Evilhawk intended to eradicate Chris' mind entirely before taking possession of his body. Evilhawk placed both of them into a machine on the ship that connected them through the Darkhawk amulet. However, Chris fought back mentally as Evilhawk assaulted his mind. Using his connection with the amulet, Chris grabbed the amulet then assumed control of a new Darkhawk body. Darkhawk fought Evilhawk until Evilhawk threatened to kill Chris' body as it hung in stasis aboard the ship. As Evilhawk readied another disintegration blast like the one he used to destroy Darkhawk before, Darkhawk generated a force shield from his amulet to block the shot; the blast reflected back at Evilhawk and completely disintegrated him, leaving only his amulet. Ocsh then resumed control over the ship.
(Darkhawk Annual I#2/2) - Over several weeks, Evilhawk focused his consciousness within Ocsh's starship form and gradually began to rebuild his android body. Bokk's consciousness confronted that of Ocsh's on an astral plane to force Ocsh to assist him in completing the body's reconstruction. This caused Bokk's amulet - lying in a box in Chris Powell's room on Earth - to glow. To stop Bokk, Ocsh overloaded the ship's power system. Unable to sustain the body which had begun construction, Evilhawk's android faded into nothing. To prevent Bokk from returning, Ocsh used the ship's weapons to destroy the machines that created Evilhawk's armor and hoped that he had permanently purged Bokk's consciousness from his systems.
(Darkhawk I#38) - Darkhawk and St. Johnny (carrying the Evilhawk amulet) returned to Ocsh and learned he was still in a constant conflict against Bokk's consciousness. Darkhawk was concerned that Bokk's consciousness would try to seize the Evilhawk amulet from St. Johnny but Ocsh explained that all six of the known amulets were required in order to affect repairs and prevent the destruction of Null Space. Bokk's mind seized control of St. Johnny through the amulet and attacked Darkhawk, causing an explosion on the ship that blew Darkhawk into Null Space.
(Darkhawk I#39) - Ocsh regained control over the ship and placed St. Johnny and the Evilhawk amulet into stasis. When Darkhawk later turned himself over to Ocsh to repair his body, Bokk's mind made contact with him and appeared to be obtaining influence over Ocsh's consciousness.
(Darkhawk I#40) - Bokk continued to contact Darkhawk, attempting to sway him to distrust Ocsh. After Darkhawk finished retrieving the fourth of the amulets, Ocsh confined him, informing him he would have to destroy Darkhawk along with the other amulets and revealed that the final amulet was already inside the starship. Bokk again demanded Darkhawk aid him against Ocsh but Darkhawk still refused.
(Darkhawk I#41) - Bokk noted to Darkhawk that, with all the amulets under his control, Ocsh had become the very sort of being that Darkhawk feared would gain control of the amulets. Bokk began to slowly rebuild his armor again, resisting Ocsh's efforts to restrain him. Bokk observed that Ocsh couldn't bear the responsibility of caring for the amulets and so sought to destroy them, but noted Darkhawk had proved the amulets' power could be used for good. Bokk finally completed his Evilhawk armor and engaged in battle with Ocsh's ship. Darkhawk freed himself but now found himself in battle with Ocsh, Evilhawk and St. Johnny over the amulets' power. Darkhawk used his recently increased powers to shatter the starship, sending the amulets into Null Space. Evilhawk eagerly flew after them but Ocsh struck him down telepathically. Ocsh quickly repaired his ship as he was in telepathic control over the other five amulets. While St. Johnny finally expired from the strain of the techno-virus on his body, Evilhawk seized the five amulets and used their power to destroy Ocsh, seemingly permanently wiping him from the ship's computers. Darkhawk fought Evilhawk and drew all of the five amulets' power into his armor's amulet, striking down Evilhawk, rendering him comatose. Darkhawk finally released the excess power and destroyed the other amulets. Predecessor took charge of the comatose Evilhawk, intending to transport him back to his home planet for judgment.

Evilhawk had an entry in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe Master Edition I#36.
Since his brother's name is Dargin Ryne, Dargin would be his family name.
In a hallucination scene in War of Kings: Ascension I#2, it's claimed that everything involving Dargin Bokk was a fabrication created by Chris Powell's mind because his mind couldn't comprehend the actual origins of the Darkhawk armor. It claimed that Evilhawk was created from Chris' subconsciousness and formed armor when Chris lost control of his mind. It's not a very convincing explanation since Chris had never before (or since) demonstrated the ability to create and animate multiple suits of Darkhawk armor. It was also claimed that Chris was afraid of the face under his Darkhawk armor because it was his own, which wouldn't explain why people other than Chris were horrified by his face.
A better explanation would be to suggest that Dargin Bokk and his allies didn't actually create their Darkhawk amulets but had instead been harnessing the powers of pre-existing artifacts belonging to the Fraternity of Raptors.

Dargin RyneDargin Ryne was Dargin Bokk's brother. Ryne was a scientist and was put in charge of overseeing Bokk's project aboard a starship in Null Space to fashion the android bodies which ultimately became the Darkhawks. Although loyal to his brother, in time Ryne realized the Darkhawks represented a great evil that his brother would unleash. As Ryne was unwilling to act against his brother, the six scientists (Mondu, Mandeja, Byron, Graczia, Kig and Ocsh) omitted Ryne from their plan to take action against Bokk by wielding the Darkhawk armors themselves. When the Darkhawks began fighting with Bokk's forces, Ryne watched helplessly, unable to bring himself to commit to either side. When Bokk gained control over the Evilhawk armor and destroyed part of the starship, many of Bokk's own men were killed. Whether Ryne perished as well was unrevealed.

Dargin Bokk's starshipDargin Bokk's starship was a small space vessel which he used to enter Null Space and dock with the larger craft aboard which Bokk's scientists were employed in creating the Darkhawk androids. When the larger vessel seemed on the verge of destruction, Evilhawk exited aboard his personal craft. For some time, Evilhawk journeyed aboard the starship while maintaining a telepathic awareness of the actions of Predecessor, St. Johnny and Darkhawk (Chris Powell) on Earth. He designed a device aboard the starship that he hoped would enable him to usurp control over Chris Powell's body. He finally used his amulet's ability transfer energy between dimensions to teleport the entire starship through a portal he forced Darkhawk to create with his amulet. After besting Darkhawk in battle, Evilhawk confined Darkhawk aboard the starship. Darkhawk escaped his bonds by becoming Chris then fought Evilhawk on the starship when he resumed his Darkhawk form. Darkhawk crippled the ship to escape Evilhawk. Darkhawk and Evilhawk exited the starship in Earth's orbit to continue their fight below. The crippled starship's remains were apparently abandoned in orbit.
