History:
(2099 Unlimited#6 (fb) - BTS) - Vulx was one of the many hideous beings created by the Golden One in his laboratory as part of his efforts to create a perfect race and to eliminate the "accidentals," beings born naturally rather than being scientifically bred. Some, if not all, of these monsters were mutated human youths kidnapped by the Golden One's agents.

(2099 Unlimited#5) - The Golden One sent Vulx to ambush the Hulk when he met with his sister, Marian. Vulx grabbed the Hulk and held him from behind until the Hulk yanked on his head pulling Vulx off of him at the expense of his skin where Vulx's tentacles had held him. Vulx briefly held Marian hostage, then stabbed his spiked limbs into the Hulk's chest and wrapped his suction cups around his head when he confronted him again. However, Marian then used an image inducer to make it appear as if the Hulk had died, causing him to drop his guard and allowing the Hulk to punch him out.

(2099 Unlimited#6) - Seeking to rescue the youth Galahad, who had been kidnapped by the Golden One, the Hulk waded into a trap, where he was incapacitated by Vulx and other mutates. Imprisoned by the Golden One, the Hulk pretended to agree to an alliance with the Golden One, but then duped him into opening one of his manacles, enabling him to break free. Vulx and the other mutates attacked the Hulk again, but he managed to overpower them, and in the course of the fight the laboratory burst into flames, possibly killing all of the mutates.
