(Marvel Comics Presents#13/4 (fb) ) - Phillip was always insulted by his wife and she was never quiet. His mood at a Safari in Kenya was already ruined, but finally he shot a lion. His wife insulted him again because of the lion he just shot and Phillip snapped. Phillip Milford shot his wife and then rigged scratches and fang marks to blame the lion.

(Marvel Comics Presents#13/4) - Shanna and her partner Leonard met Phillip near the Ngorongo Crater to investigate Betsy's death. Phillip told them his version of the story and told them that the lion killed her and that one bullet accidentally hit Betsy when he tried to shoot the lion. Phillip was surprised when Leonard told him that they hadn't found a dead lion where the came from. Shanna soon returned with the lion Phillip had hit and shot Phillip with a tranquilizer gun. She wanted to know the truth about Betsy's death and Phillip told her willingly just to get the antidote, but Shanna tricked him because the tranquilizer dart was empty.

Betsy Milford

She was Phillip's ever annoying wife who couldn't stop insulting her husband. She hated everything about the safari she went on with her husband and didn't shut up the whole time. She was shot by her husband when he finally had enough. Afterwards her corpse was further mutilated by Phillip to make the lion the scapegoat.

Sultan

Sultan was a lion from Jack Bingham's Ranch and got lost two days before in the bush. He was raised by a kitten and couldn't hurt a fly. Phillip shot him, but Sultan wasn't killed, but Phillip didn't know this and used his fangs and claws to further injure his wife's corpse to lay the blame on the lion. Sultan fled injured and was soon found by Shanna who helped him against another lion. Shanna realized who the Sultan was and took him with her back to Phillip Milford after she had removed the bullet behind his ear. After Phillip's confession she told her partner Leonard who the lion really was. Shanna left with Sultan afterwards.
